Try Oppo R7S , has used it during HK and Thailand trip so far so good. SIM1 will drop to 2G (Singapore Line) but still can receive normal SMS and make call and SIM2 local card can connect to 4G and Data plan,to use with all SIM1 data Apps applications like WhatApps , LINE and Goggle Map etc.

I believe the new Samsung A series (2016) does have lte dual Sim capabilities too. Do check them out.

The A3 /A5 would be the one I would suggest you take a look at!

It works like how all current dual sim does.

One sim card will be able to connect to 4G or 3G depending on the sim card and network.

The other one will be on 2G for calls and sms only.

I normally fly to places like china, Myanmar, philippines and Indonesia.
All working well due to the fact that OP2 supports alot of network bands.

Nope, for the A5 (2016) and also the A7 (2016), it features two SIM slots and a standalone micro SD slot.

You're wrong. It's 2+1 slot for a5/7. Only a3 has standard config.
