I've being short sighted since age 13.....

the optometrist says I'm 5 years ahead of time from when people usually start to need multifocal lenses.......

No la... No need so expensive la.. my parents make those multifocal lens with 3 functions long sighted short sighted and astigmatism.

Its around $300-400

Above or equal $500 are premium glasses. Dont really need them unless u are a doctor or surgeon or engineer who requires very precise reading.

They can go as low as $100 +

Except for certain other non related functions you want to add in that bumps up the costs ...transitions...etc

The amount you pay is supposed to reduce distortion so you don't feel like you're wearing progressives.


At 35 you probably won't need progressives for a while unless you're really that special ... But more eye strain lor

Prices are usually high for those with brands like Essilor, Nikon, Carl Zeiss and Hoya.

Pentax is not represented in Singapore from 2015 till today.

For your info, the Pentax brand is under Seiko and Hoya has acquired a certain % ownership of Seiko 2 or 3 years ago.

Sorry Judy.
I dont mean to make you feel sub par.
I have seen lenses being sold for S $5k. However at S $1k, this is already above the average retail prices of progressive lenses.
