Just to ask around, I signed up for M1 fiber broadband 1Gbps. Along with the plan I got the mobile broadband and digital phone line both for free. My unit the ONT is located inside the DB area. I was told by M1 that I need to put my cordless deck phone inside the DB area so when ever I receive calls I need to go there to answer. The phone line should be connected to tel port 1 behind the ONT. There is a tel port next to the data port at my living room. There is also the tel port in the DB area. Question is how do I install the deck at living room connecting to the tel port there?

Anyone can help?

Thank you

On M1 300 Mbps using Singapore Telin host, with the desktop Win 8.1 i5 2.7Ghz Quadcore.

I do recall was able to hit around the 300 Mbps speed previously when just signed up, but recently did a speedtest again and seems only can achieve 100 Mbps. Just rebooted both Asus N56 router and ONT but still same. Anything else I can do to check?

Hi Sir,

I'd be damned... I tried unplugging and replugging the end that directly connects to my desktop, and bam the speeds are back. Does that mean my cable/crimp is marginal? I thought these things are built like rocks. This is a Cat-5e.

Cat5E is fine. If it comes back, I'd re-crimp the ends or change the cable.

Or if you're sure the cable is fine, I'd force 1000 full duplex in device manager.

Can explain a bit more on how to do that last part, or what is it about exactly? Thanks!

Ok I realize I only have the below in my Realteck PCIe GBE Family Controller Properties, do I choose that first one?

1 Gbps Full Duplex
10 Mbps Full Duplex
10 Mbps Half Duplex
100 Mbps Full Duplex
100 Mbps Half Duplex

Or if you're sure the cable is fine, I'd force 1000 full duplex in device manager.

He's correct ah, set it to 1gbps full duplex. Maybe u did not see clearly??

If still have same issue, change the cable.

Recently i am also having such issue. That day i tried all ways but it is still the same problem. I disabled ethernet and later enabled it and suddenly it is ok.

Is it better to buy own router or top-up $5 per month for the router ?
