Hi guys, i'm in a dilemma. Hope you all could spark some lights.
I'm actually considering Pixel C and this Shield K1. My purpose on it, mobile games.
Right now i'm looking for Nvidia base SoC, as i know the way it render graphics is way beautiful for a mobile gaming standards.
But what i could not decide was between these 2 tablets. This 2 tablets performance looks like the same? The only reason why it can come neck to neck as the Shield has lesser pixels to push out. Unlike the Pixel C is running at a much more higher resolution.
What came up to my mind and what i think about the Shield?
Given the fact that the Shield K1 is pretty much very old, is it still wise to buy it? Or is it wiser to wait for the next Shield that probably will run with X1 SoC?
Shield K1 is old, and with 2gb of RAM, how far can the current amount of RAM go at this rate that apps running right now are taking in so much RAM resources.
But what i like about the Shield K1 is the ability to connect to a display or TV for console feel via HDMI. This i would strongly agree as when we buy together with the remote, this will give a console feel.
Also the one can stream Steam games across from PC to Shield if one has Nvidia GPU. But however it does not make sense. What is the purpose of streaming Steam games from PC to Shield when one could just game better on PC? Or is it the comfort to play anywhere in the house, lying down in bed to play etc?
What i think about Pixel C?
Pixel C on the other hand is far much much more expensive. Its a whooping $400 more than compared to the Shield. But what it has is a Maxwell based X1 SoC. It is a powerhouse hardware, and it has a lot of potential. To game that tablet is a premium. Based on its hardwares and software implemented, this tablet wont be that fast to obsolete, and furthermore one would probably use it for the next 3 years till Google themselves officially stop supporting the device.
It is fast, faster than the iPad Air 2. And probably closing the gap between the iPad Pro and Pixel C. Is it worth to pay the price? Although the features of the Pixel C is lesser gaming oriented than the Shield. It does not support Steam games, not to sure if it supports hdmi to monitor or tv?
Which one to go for?....
