They look great! Colour combi abit too dandy for me to carry off in the office though.

Question: do they fit more like loafers or monks?

Loafers. Just needed a dandy shoe that i can take off easily when visiting clients' offices who set such ridiculous rules.

So the buttons aren't really functional in the sense that u can slip on/off the shoes w/o having to unfasten them? I think a black n grey suede or burgundy and black suede combi can work for me! Haha

Regarding orbans shoes which a fellow forumer posted, I've received them but.. I can only post tomorrow. If not it will be a rough year ahead for me; superstition

Sent from Gong Wu Gong Bo from OnePlus 1 using GAGT

That's fast hand fast leg of u! I recall website was not even available in ENG!

Look forward to your pics and reviews. Interested to know your thoughts on price/quality of Orbans vs other entry level brands like loake, meermin

Yes I know Darknight55 did posted some pics of his EB button loafers. But here's another shot I took a while ago. Yup, same GMTO order and thank you Darknight55 for your participation!

Model: 2687 (3-eyelet button shoes)
Last: 363MOD last (generous fitting last)
Calf: Vitello Bleu (Dark blue calf, similar to EG Midnight Blue Antique)
Suede: Hidro Schiefer (Dark grey suede with a slightly green undertone)
Soles edge: Dark brown
Number of buttons: 3 (non-functional)
Colour of buttons: Navy
Construction: Handwelted
Soles: Single leather soles, beveled waist

EB's 363MOD last is much comparable with Carmina's Rain last, but EB's having a higher instep. As I have a relatively wide feet, high instep and narrow heels, generally, EB suits me well. As advised by Gabriel, I took a 5.5 UK for EB as compared to 6 UK in Rain last. No break-in period needed actually. I've worn these button loafers twice on separate occasions (>9 hours each) without any grumbling. Fit is excellent, finishing (including the sewn buttons) is decent. To be honest, I don't find any difficulty wearing them for both casual and/or formal occasions. But well, this all boils down to respective dress work attire too.

I'm wondering how it would look with a more chiseled or round chiseled last like 74945 or 804 or 946 :D

GO FOR IT! Hehe.

I heard that EB are raising their prices soon? I don't know how soon and I'm uncertain if this applies to both RTW and GMTO as well. Maybe someone with a better understanding can shed some light. But nonetheless, now is a great time to purchase; to appease the longing desire...
