Krisflyer miles redemption

OK, now I have a confirmed return redemption ticket on SQ for Auckland, booked on Saver award tier several months ago. Now I am thinking of changing the date for the SIN-AKL flight, but I still want to keep the return AKL-SIN flight unchanged.

Is it possible to just switch the outgoing flight online without affecting the rest of the booking ?

There is availability for Saver redemption for the outgoing flight that I want to switch to, but when I try to change the booking, it requires me to select a return flight again and there is no more availability for the return flight on Saver, so I can't proceed.

It doesn't seem logical that I cannot switch one leg of a booking without having to rebook the entire itinerary.

Any advice ? TIA

Call in for the change. They can do it for you.

Thanks for the advice, called KF number and explained the situation and they did the manual change for me while I waited. Looks like SQ's redemption system needs some fine tuning.

Should be peak season since it's summer, plus our local school holiday.
First time using my KF to redeem flights as well, booking SG - CPH in Biz and AMS - SG in Eco for Dec this year, both ways I'm on waitlist.

Redemption is based on zone and there is big difference within a zone. Silkair sin-Kul biz class costs 14875 miles and $80 plus tax. Sq biz class one way to Bali costs the same amount but flight time is 3 times longer and on a bigger aircraft. Who would want to redeem biz class tickets to Malaysia on silkair?

The $80 plus tax is enough for travelling with MAS or budgets airlines already.

Haven't had the experience yet. I heard waitlisting do not need the required miles yet.

Won't risk to be waitlisted. Either I change my dates, or I book another airline.

don't use miles to redeem economy class tickets. not worth it.

either use miles to redeem biz or first class or upgrade from paid economy ticket. upgrade depends on your luck and there is a chance you won't be upgraded despite paying for a flexi economy class ticket.

Crap just hits the fan for me
I shifted around my booking date and split up my tickets to increase my chance of securing a seat (instead of 2x Biz, becomes 1x Biz + 1x Biz)

Managed to find one date when booking with 1x Biz. Taking a leap of faith, I proceed to book the first ticket, and went through. But when I try to book the second ticket, it is placed on wait list

I just called KF to see if they can help open up one more slot, but nothing can be done from their end. Anyone encountered this issue, and any possible workaround?

It's right for SQ flight. But for *A flight, some economy tix is good deal while redeem with kf miles.
