thank you.

if I get 2700x is purely for work, run VMs, crunching SQL queries, etc
very little need for gaming, so thought something like RX560 will be sufficient for gaming.

If we put it a gfx card that runs x16 on the PCI-E slot, would that mean sharing bandwidth with the PCI-E NVMe SSD?
Not worth getting the RX 560. It's not cheap and very slow. Even a simple GTX 1050 outperforms it in every game.

And no, the PCI-E bandwidth for the 2 are separate. Unless you install 2 graphic cards, then it will cut the graphic card PCI-E bandwidth by half, ie, split between the 2 graphic cards.

Would you guys recommend waiting for Ryzen 3, or build a new PC using Ryzen 2?

Currently looking at choosing R5 2400G (4C 8T). Will reuse gfx, PSU, SSD & HDD. Upgrading from my current PC , specs on the right.

Why go for 2400G when you can get a 2600 instead? After all, you are reusing your graphic card. Which means the integrated graphics will not be used.

Anyway, if you are not in a rush to upgrade, may be good to wait till Ryzen 2 is out. Ryzen 2 is known as 3000 series.

Just landed my hands on a 2700X. Need y'all gurus to advise on which motherboard to get to build my rig.

But I'm new to overclocking so thinking of trying it out in the near future. Too many choices in the market not sure which one would be appropriate.

What do you guys think?

Depending on your wants/needs/pockets. What is your targeted usage for your new build?

Personally, if you have gotten a 2700X, might as well go all the way with a proper X470 board. As for OC, important to get a compatible RAM based on the board's QVL since Ryzen is known to be picky about it.

I don't think you need to worry about ram. DDR5 is still need some time before we see it mainstream. Ryzen 2 should bring support for faster rams, which is good to have but not necessary.

There is no need to worry even if they bump up the supported ram speed. Generally there's very small improvements from 3000 to 3200 onwards. While the clockspeed is higher, it needs to be compensated with increased latencies which nullifies most of the clockspeed increase.

I am anyway running my Klevv memory at 3000 but with tighter CL14 timings.

thanks mate, at first scare buy the ram before ryzen 2 release might not support it

Hello Ryzen users,

I recently build a new PC for my cousin. The motherboard is Gigabyte B450M DS3H with 2400G and a 8GB Klevv Bolt 3200Mhz.

I have loaded the XMP profile 1 to get the rated speed but the system crashes on every boot. There is nothing I could change on the board. I am wondering any users with this board facing the same issue? I think the board could be new so the support is not there...
