Thought I'd share some info.
It's considered old info now.
Been testing during the pre-launch phase with beta(buggy) bios and what not.
Haven't had the time to update except inform some dealers.

For rams on the 3000 series.
Now pretty much almost any tom dick harry rams will work.
Of course if you want assurance, then go for the amd qvl ones which more options will be available soon.

3200 is pretty much out of the box. (16-32GB set ups)
3600MHz is the sweet spot.
After that, the infinity fabric breaks into a 2:1 ratio.
(read the info online, I had no idea then)

With higher density modules, you will pretty much see a visible boost in performance.
ie.16GB modules.
I tested with a variety of rams.
8GB x2/x4
16GB x2/x4

As of after the launch, vendors have been churning out bios every few days.
(Even for x570)
So bear with it for the time being.

Some of the common occurrence that you may face,
black screen with blinking activity light after the flash.
Just power down, clear the cmos and boot again after awhile, it should work.

Failed mem oc, clearing cmos may take forever.
Just pull out the rams and boot with a different stick.
It will generally recover straight away.

64GB works like a charm even on the B450 now.

Tested with the most basic G.skill Ripjaws V 2666C15 32GBkits x 2.
Sniper X 3200 16x2x2 and 3600 8x2 as well.
Mixed modules tested @ well.

3800MHz on the B450
IF ram ratio becomes 2:1

Although compatibility is awesome now,
there isnt much difference in performance(cas latency wise as well).
So 64GB, 3200MHz is the dope spot.
3600 is pretty much the sweet spot if u have a decent kit before.

Thank you clon22 for sharing, always good to hear more user reviews (even though you represent a distro) for new products.

Guess I will see if I can push my Hynix CJR rams to 3600c18 or even tighter timings before buying new rams lol.

I have dual rank Trident Z 3733mhz 2*16gb kit.

And I have 2 sets of Sniper X 3600mhz 4*8gb Hynix c based.

Gone are the days where it’s so hard to manual overclock rams, it’s just flawless now.

Still running some test. Trident Z 3733Mhz cl17 I wasn’t expecting to boot at above 4000Mhz. Cause my Z390 Ace wasn’t able to do so. But X570 Creation proves me wrong. :s13:

how is the Hynix CJR performing? can get 3600C16 or 3733C18?

Have not tighten the memory. Just doing stock cl19 4000mhz able to boot. At 4000 cl19, it should be about the same bandwidth as cl17 3600.

Not unless you are holding cjr with very Low freq ram like from 2400mhz then it will be a lot harder lah.

If you have cl16 3200mhz and cl19 3600mhz, it should be able to go higher.

I got C16 3200 corsair vengence rgb pro, should be able to OC higher or keep at 3200? Does it matter?

Eh don't follow my footsteps lol.

Cause more does not mean good. There is diminishing returns from 3733mhz to 4000mhz.

The current sweet spot is 3600mhz and a tiny bit better will be 3733mhz. Latency starts to increase back once you hit above that.

To me mainstream 3200mhz cl14 will be good. Its comparable to 3600mhz @ cl16. So for your case. Either you drop to cl14 3200mhz, or you bump up the freq to 3600mhz but cl16. Either way should give you the same performance.

Would like to ask those who have gotten their Ryzen 3000, what method did you use for thernal paste application?

Considering that the layout of the chiplets are at the side if I remember correctly, does the pea method in the middle still works?

Why not ah, considering the cooler base still need to flat 100% flat on the cpu, putting in pea will guarantee it will spread evenly across the whole surface

Was just thinking that since the chiplets are at the side, if I should put the thermal paste pea more towards the side rather than still in the middle.

Guess I will find out over the weekend when the 3800X comes in hopefully lol

Don't know why you insist on 3800X. lol

The 3700X is a better cpu. Above that is 3900X or 3950X liao. No point going 3800X IMHO.
