LOL. Go check it out. Really not bad instead of trying so hard to go higher frequency, go lower with timings instead. Easier to boot.
Ya i got time will go try for sure, maybe later in the nite or tmr

i wonder if you go for 2933/3200 CL14 timing, how were your result be man

I did tried, for this board, going higher freq boot is unstable, each time turning back on could lead to multiple on/off. Yet alone tighter timings.

The MSI X370 Gaming Plus don't seems to like higher frequency, hence it wont boot up at times. Although if it does boot, it is only bench safe. Might not be even stable. So far by doing tighter timings, overall stable and yet delivers almost identical to higher frequencies and looser timings.

On the other hand, when I tested Asus high end boards, they seems to prefer higher frequency and looser timings. So yeah....

Gaming with tighter memory RAMS

Another gaming title,

Deus EX Mankind Divided

1080p, Ultra Preset Settings, 2400mhz stock RAM

1080p, Ultra Preset Settings, 2400mhz OC tighter timing RAM

Another graphic demanding title, but minimum frame rates gets 7.9% boost!

Went and research and found out about GDM and BGS and went and disable it to squeeze more performance out of gaming. Miracle after doing that, cpu does not stress as much as what the article have say and i am able to squeeze my 1600 to 3.9GHz stable @ 1.4V on stock cooler (72 on stress test and not 5x-6x on gaming test)

So here is some short guides on how to bring down the RAMs for a much tighter memory and also increase the overall memory bandwidth.

On a MSI board, head to the BIOS and enter the OC section.

Ensure that the RAM A-XMP board to be turned off.

Enter "Advanced DRAM Configuration" This will allow users to set the RAM timings. Start decreasing the clocks till desire.

Head back and ensure that your DRAM voltage and CPU NB/SoC voltage are set accordingly to 1.35v and 1.1v respectively. This is to help and improve memory overclocking and stability.

Lastly save it and boot.

I'm a wannabe only bro, just play with primary timings nia. :p

Seemed to me that ryzen board/setup does take sometimes to warm up. Used to have issue with 3200 1t wn i just switched back from k7. Now 3333 is almost there for 24/7. Hopefully 3466 doable next.

never thought 3466 1t is achievable, eventhou it's just a quick bench setup, nowhere near 24/7 setup...

Yep, high mem freq don't work on cold boot.
But when it's in running and you increase gradually while testing,
they go higher and higher for the bench.
After you shut off, it doesn't boot again.
I think you experienced pretty much the same too.

Wahaha, yup, really hope there is option like boot vdimm on d x370 board (gaming plus would be ideal given d price). For 3333 n above u need lotsa vdimm to boot but not necessarily in windows. My scenario was 3200 needed only 1.33v but 3333 not gonna boot with anything less than 1.42v. Itchin to try x370 gaming plus but must work hard to find any loose cash at home or in piggy bank... Lol...
