Seems like no difference. I updated and tried using amd balance power but still showing 1.476v most of the time even when idling, with instances of spike drop to 1.02v and that’s it. Almost similar to before update. Using windows balance power still the same whereby the vcore hovers around 1.28v when idling to ~ 1.42v when opening chrome with around 30 tabs.

Amd balance power allow the max frequency to be ~4267MHz and under windows balance power, it shows 4117MHz. So difference of 150MHz with max vcore 1.476v(amd balance) against 1.42v(windows balance) and of cause more heat generated when voltage is higher.

AMD Balance Power:

Windows Balance Power:
Try using Ryzen Master or Core Temp? I am getting pretty good results with the new chipset driver.

Idle voltage hovers between 0.9 and 1. Temp also gone down slightly. Only thing is that the boost seems a bit lacklustre - didn't quite hit the speed I desire.

I using core temp as default and it shows same figures as hwinfo under its VID.
U using AMD balance power?
Ryzen master readings is different to HWINFO?

Mine still showing 1.4+v under ryzen master with amd balance power. Mine seems to be under PBO(description circle in yellow). Yours don't have. How to make it default? I didnt set anything in ryzen master.

For purpose of comparison, here's a screenshot from HWINFO.

I am using AMD Ryzen Balanced power setting.

As for PBO, maybe have a look at the BIOS? I tried enabling PBO through Ryzen Master, the idle voltage still drops to below 1 when idling.

I also select amd balance now. Think my vcore doesn't go down is because OC mode show PBO enabled. How to make OC mode to default like yours under ryzen master?

PBO is either auto or enabled in my BIOS. Yours is disabled in BIOS? If not why ryzen master show OC mode as default?

I added a screenshot of Ryzen Master with PBO enabled above.

On the left bottom, click Reset and see if PBO is enabled through Ryzen Master. If not, gotta check BIOS liao.

Ryzen masters histogram average of all CCX. Hwinfo is realtime, cycle individual CCX. From my observations, the new driver and ryzen master is seems to work too "well" or acting "funny", my idle temp <35c, and several ccx now can 100% idle on PBO enabled.

For that screenshot, I enabled through Ryzen Master.

Oh, make sure you update your Ryzen Master too. Just hg2 mentioned, it now takes the average.

Ryzen master already updated to latest. Not sure how to use ryzen master though. How about Bios settings for PBO for you case?

Yea same here. When boosting with PBO enabled, I only get about 4.05Ghz and reaches a temp of about 82C when benching with Cinebench R20.

I reset my BIOS to optimized default after installing the new chipset. Even VCore voltage is now at Auto instead of Normal.

Can't check the BIOS now cos heading out.

It's what me and hlots was discussing about on the other zen2 thread. Seems like on gigabyte boards with ram at 3600mhz boost/voltage is effected. Try setting your ram to run at 3200mhz or anything lower than 3600mhz and see if your voltage/temps/power is still spiking with the new chipset drivers.

Now the CCD01 can automatically go to sleep zzzZ 100%...CCD0 partial sleeping...
not sure bad or good.
