Memory OC

So here is some short guides on how to bring down the RAMs for a much tighter memory and also increase the overall memory bandwidth.

On a MSI board, head to the BIOS and enter the OC section.

https://image.ibb.co/dg3FpQ/MSI_Snap_Shot.png

Ensure that the RAM A-XMP board to be turned off.

https://image.ibb.co/mrxmw5/MSI_Snap_Shot_00.png

Enter "Advanced DRAM Configuration" This will allow users to set the RAM timings. Start decreasing the clocks till desire.

https://image.ibb.co/hvvjik/MSI_Snap_Shot_01.png

Head back and ensure that your DRAM voltage and CPU NB/SoC voltage are set accordingly to 1.35v and 1.1v respectively. This is to help and improve memory overclocking and stability.

Lastly save it and boot. Run some stress test. Cinebench, SuperPi or Prime95.

Cinebench

Instead of going for higher memory speed, I stick it to 2400mhz instead, but go for a much tighter timing.

Maintain the CPU speed at 3900Mhz (1.35v), RAM at 2400Mhz, 11-13-13-32 1.35v.

Fancy a r7 1700 wrath spire rgb cooler?

ragnarok95 09-09-2017 11:32 PM

The title... sounds like a sponsor thread, but without the distro branding.

ah_khoo 10-09-2017 12:23 AM

Dont see anything wrong with that bro, boards do behave differently, according to brand n chipset. Would be easier for users of same brand mobo manufacturer to discuss bugs, feedback or even share oc results (for comparison). :)

It will be even more easy if they bother to subscribe. ;)

royfrosty 10-09-2017 12:52 AM

Hey nevermind ba, I cant force people to subscribe, but I will just continue to share whatever that comes through my mind ba.

But nevertheless, if response isn't great and there is no support, I will just let it float ba.

My aim is to gather more owners and update more infos on anything they wish to find out or troubleshoot. I hope with this thread, they can find what they want and at the end of the day learn something.

Morning bro,

Thanks for the support but no need for such an msi club thingy.
You can do it for the general AM4 Ryzen community.
Like that all Ryzen users also can chime in and share their experiences too.
(Regardless of mobo brands.)
I did one for MSI previously but thanks to Photobucket, all the images gone.@@
Thanks again bro.
