For Synology NAS , is it die-die need to use either WD RED NAS hard disk or Seagate NAS hard disk ? What will happen if you put in a normal 7200 rpm desktop hard disk ?

No it's not a die die must get red.. To me red harddisk don't seems to get good review as u keep hearing red die.. I am using hitachi 7200 3tb harddisk

Compatibility - What hard drive models are supported by Synology products? - Synology Inc. Network Attached Storage - NEW NAS Experience

Thought they have this list of tested Hard Disk Drive. So if we buy something not from the tested list , the NAS will still work ?

for harddisk i alway try to get different brand or batch.
if not suay suay got problem all ganna.

Anybody know what is the conversion progress in file station converting? It seems like taking forever to convert.. Anyway to disable it? Thanks.

Have anyone enable Xunlei Lixian and got it working? I kept getting the message that I am not logged in into xunlei but at the download station settings I have already done so.

Control Panel > Shared Folder > Edit > "Check" Hide folders and files from users without permissions

I checked liao... When i log in using my wife id.. still can see the folder.
But cannot proceed further though.

You wan to hide in your network places? or you would like to hide the sub folders?

I dont want it to show up in the Network Place for those without access.
If it's totally hidden, how do i access to the folder/files?
