Increase your MTU to 9000
Changing your MTU to 9000 without all the devices in the chain (ie, your router, your switch must support jumbo frames) configured for the same MTU (Maximum Transfer Unit) size will do you no good.

I'm using Asus RT-N56U, not using any switch, connect Lan cable direct from 413J to router....
Your router/switch/firewall all in one is the likely bottleneck. I had the same problem with a consumer grade dlink 5 port dumb switch; it would go at full speed for 1 - 2 minutes then down to 3 - 5MB/s after that.

There's a reason why prosumer and enterprise grade switch cost more - they have a larger "backbone"

Here's an excellent article that kind of explains the performance discrepancies if you read between the lines.

Try connecting your "finder" machine to the same switch as the NAS. If you can see the NAS, then it's your repeater screwing you over.

Introduced a repeater to my home last night. After that i cannot find my Synology NAS in the network. Also on browser i cannot find the NAS IP address. Any help???

Dear all,
Any of you encounter issues accessing your NAS with DS Finder app for iOS? I tried accessing 2 NAS (personal and my client) with administrator account, but no luck. Been prompted the message "You are not authorised to use this service."
Checked my firewall from my end, no issue at all when I access the other services, eg. File Station, Video Station.
Previously the DS Finder worked fine, but now it just stopped working. Any assistance appreciated
