it is shown here

https://www.synology.com/en-global/p...s/DS218+#specs

DDR3L
Most memory (despite Synology states otherwise) works. Your mileage might varies.

Just note that, my DS1515+ came without "L". I bought a L and it doesn't work. so i swapped the default memory to a L too and both works. In other words, if you want to keep the existing ram, buy the same type.

L = low power btw. - usually for notebooks

Another rma'd 4TB wd red hard disk died. Sending it off via post for RMA. Last round it seems.

They really just last about a years usage before needing to RMA.
From all the combined knowledge in this thread, and my own [un-educated] experience with 18 Red WD. I'm going to guess it's those reds.

I blew so much money on those drives and was absolutely ripped off by WD. *sigh*

I killed my credit card and wallet, when I discovered this thread two weeks ago, and decided to bite the bullet by making the swap to Toshiba/HGST.

It isn't just failing out of the blue, the Red drives seem to make an effort to hide problems and then simply just...fail. No SMART warnings whatsoever. The NAS will complain about the drive kicking a fuss, or that I will have unexplainable pauses when doing my transfers etc, but extended SMART testing will be totally fine. [Ironically, this sort of experience was exactly what warned me a drive was dying during pre-SMART days]

And then bam...one of them goes out of commission.

Now that I've swapped completely away from WD, I hope my now empty wallet and big credit card bill is worth the pain.

Hi
need to check with the expert here on video station.

I have ds918+ and have installed video station.
I have also setup ddns and did manual port forward for video station eg. router port is 19000-19050 and internal port is 9000 to 9050.
Why is there a range?

To connect to dsvideo in the login screen, i realise i can only use the url:port number of magmt ui(https or http).
Is that correct?
Should i use https or http port?

if i use https port, there is a setting inside which say play video in http, which port should i put? 19000 or 9000?
if i use either one it will says video play back fail and ask to check the http port in dsvideo.
I am confused as I already try both or any number in btw the range or either router or internal port.
if i dont use http playback setting, it says video playback fail due to certificate issue.

If i use http port during login, the video will try to play but just a spining icon and it will show an error that the operation could not be completed.

I am confused now as 3 different possibilities and all failed.

Can anyone advice the correct setting to use? or is there other player that is better to use than dsvideo.

Thank you

no pic, no understand what you meant.
There shouldn't any range involved. You can always put 19000-19000

if you set it up correctly, http or https will work depending on how u configure it /want it

BUT... videos with external .SRT file will not work with HTTPS.

u can use DSVIDEO to load with MXPLAYER.
