Very true, this may caused the demise on my DS413

Appreciate your response, while it is not entirely wrong but it 413 would be just great to be passed on to others or simple function. I just ordered DS918+ but still wish to have the 413 working when possible. Adapter is good, but MB seems flaky.

Now I'm quite concerned about warranty. So seems after warranty, the product is hard to be repaired. No rservice centre here...
I dont know how you derived the adapter is good. How you test it? You have a multimeter/voltmeter??

I misunderstood. I thought you're referring to power adapter which clearly supplying power to the NAS.

DS413 power adapter

Even the adapter is "semi-faulty" it can still supply power just not full load.
The chances / possibility is there.

Anyway you've bought yourself a DS918+ right? you can use the adapter. Based on Synology site, it is the same power adapter.

From there you could isolate the possibility of the adapter and decide thereafter to throw or find ways to fix your DS413.

Anyone try Alexa successfully work with Audio Station ???

Very tempting to try it out.
I did. It works. But very complicated ... Took me 2 days by trail and error.

ASUS RT-AC87U + DS416 with Echo Dot.

Follow the instruction from synology:

https://originwww.synology.com/en-us...n_Amazon_Alexa

Need to open port, get certificate, etc, etc....

When it works, can you ask "Alexa plays song by __________" ? How do you organize songs in Audio station?

Or just play songs in the playlist. Currently I am playing songs via Spotify.

Yes. There is a standard command to use. Eg.

"Alexa, ask audio station to play My Way". There is no particular order to organise songs. The songs have to reside in the "Music" folder in the NAS - where Audio Station kept the files. You can put your songs in the sub-folder in this Music folder, eg. English Songs, Oldies, etc. You need to put the name of the song and/or the singer in the song file: by right clicking the mp3 file and choose properties -> Details. Then you can put the name of the song in there. By default, the name should be there.

Thanks again. I will explore it more when my spotify license expires.

May want to try multiple accounts to access audio station allow multiple account for Alexa dot to access.

.
Likely sata connector giving contact issue. Not worth to repair a 6-year old NAS, get a new one instead.

Spoiler!
