I m using ds216j only. Can u share a small file of the movie that works for u to let me try?
Hmm. U can download from YouTube 4K and test. Easiest but not 100% accurate. Good gauge however

Honestly i doubt the 216j series could handle 4K.

Low end nas..

I'm thinking of getting a Synology NAS to set up like a personal Dropbox (is it called Cloud Station?). Anyone has any experience to share regarding that? Especially in terms of sync speed and reliability (e.g. conflicts).

Or should I just opt for Dropbox Plus?

Thanks in advance!

Cloudstation is fine. Speed is more or less based on your internet speed

can the LG tv use plex?
I'm running ds918+ with plex playing on LG Webos3.0, haven't try 4k media, personally I don't like to keep 4k media waste of resources. Using cloud sync to backup my one drive, and cloud station for sharing public folder. Waiting for my M2 ssd to arrive, gonna use it for the vm hosting

It's OK to use 1 pcs, but u can only set to read cache. For read and write cache, u need to have a pair.

The most effective and simple way to plug in 4 x 8TB on the empty slots and create a 2nd volume with Raid 5. Create share folder under volume 2.

You can replace but it is very time consuming ..it may take more than 1 week to resync all your data to 4 X 8TB.
