Thought I share an interesting thing I stumbled on the net and tried out.

My entire family of 5 uses Macs with some dual booting into Windows and I have loads of important VMs. NAS is already almost 4TB filled and need to find a way of backing up the NAS fully encrypted to the cloud. Was using Crashplan(until they cancelled it) then tried Wasabi backup and although not bad and cheap just doesn't feel that right.

Someone mentioned about Google Drive via the G Suite Business plan. US$10/mth for 1 TB of space BUT Google don't enforce the volume cap. Long story short, been on it for the last 3 days and already over 1TB backed up in under 48 hours! Blazing fast compared to anything I've ever tried and it's Google so I know they won't close shop tomorrow. Currently am at 1.2 TB already and will sign up for it when trial ends in 11 days time.

Now I have peace of mind that my 3-2-1 backup plan is securely in place.
File size limitation? Characters limitation? Special characters? Any of it?

OneDrive is shitty because of such constrains

Bought 2 x Crucial 8 GB DDR3L 1866 MHz SODIMM Memory from Lazada and installed them successfully to my DS918+.

I tried VM to run Windows 10 pro, work flawlessly .

My next phase is to get SSD M2.

Hmmm. I'm using DS1515+

I've arranged them in order ready to be put back to the NAS. I'm only afraid that I put them back in starting with the wrong slot. 😅

No idea, but may risk data loss.

Which model is your NAS?

My previous DS414 power brick started giving restart issue barely 3 months after purchase. Got a replacement from Eternal Asia.

No issue to slot in same sequence if you mark the HDD in original setup.

Oh ok. Am I right to say that it'll be fine as long they are in running sequence? 12345 or 54321 doesn't matter as long as they are put back in running sequence?

Do you notice that each slot in the NAS is numbered? I don't think you can reverse the sequence.

5tb max size of one file. Unsure of chars limitation. So far I've already uploaded 2.5TB in under 5 days and another 300GB left and I'll be done.

Am happy so far and US$10/mth for such an insurance is a bargain to me.
