Last mth I showed how the new G.skill RipjawV 2666MHz
destroyed value rams @ 3200MHz CL16 while being JEDEC 2666MHz.

And this mth....
The Sniper X versions are born:

They are Intel XMP rated @ 3600MHz CL19.(Not A-XMP)
Sounds meh....
But not one bit meh in performance.

3400MHz benchable:
(You have to find your latency sweeet spot)

Only came a small batch of stocks.
If you are looking for decent rams for your new Ryzen 2700X,
and not needing the blink blink, just get these.
Really, just get these.
(I don't even know will there still be stocks after posting this) @@

Besides, they look pretty nice.

Have a good weekend everyone.
Cheers.

is it amd compatible with ryzen 2 motherboards on plug n play? Understand ryzen platforms are memory picky and usually requires samsung b-die memory chips.

CL19 is very conservative to begin with, but nice rams. Just that the price of memory across the board is still too high.

Look what i did....

Mixing 2 different sets of RAM, Sniper X CL19 3600Mhz with Ripjaws V 3000Mhz CL15.

Bammm boot at 3466Mhz with a tighter timing set.

since 6c/12t, u shud run 12 instances of hci instead of 8...

Oh yah, i forgot about it.
Lucky was testing memory and not cpu core stability.
I left too little buffer too.

How much is the price?

Msrp $299

Hynix C die.

Used it in quad channel.

To be really stable and error free in memtest86 i set 18 19 19 19 39 stock voltage.

This ram is basically quite cool.

Instead of giving users with tighter timing/lower latency with lower frequency. In exchange they actually give a higher frequency with higher latency.

Which imo helps a lot for ryzen platform or in this case tr4. Although it did not mentioned that it is optimized for ryzen platform, but because it is a looser timing and made out of Hynix C die, this actually is great and in favour of both am4 and tr4 users.

In all Gskill really make good rams. First to make Hynix based Flare X that is meant for am4/tr4 users. This is one of the higher end ones that meet values and yet an easier plug and play with profiles easily turned on without any issues.

In all i would say it is a great ram to try out for am4/tr4 platform. :s12:

Actually what's the difference between b die, A die, whatever die? Though b die works great as many suggest..

How to actuality know if single rank or dual rank? I check with thaiphoon my is hynix A die.. Gskill trident z rgb c16 gtzr.

At start, AM4 in april 2017 when first launched, getting rams to be stable at 3200mhz was near impossible. With some reviewers only managed to get 2933mhz to 3000mhz on the kit ram that amd sent them at that point of time.

After a few weeks later, a lot of bios released for am4 platform were released. Trying to get to rated 3200mhz was only possible with Samsung B die with a fairly loose timing.

So some forumers over at overclocknet decided to compile a list of rams and check the Ram die that is made. They found out that Samsung B die indeed favours Ryzen which are able to hit up to 3466mhz. Samsung D/E/S die were only able to go up to 2933mhz. As for Hynix only A/M die were able to hit 3200mhz. Hence that is where your RAM works at 3200mhz.

Heck it even my 2400mhz trident z is Hynix A die. Ocing it to 3200mhz may or may not work on selected platforms. The only downside for me is that this rams were only rated at 2400mhz. So to oc till 3200mhz is definitely not easy.

Gskill on the other hand managed and first to release a Samsung b die based Flare X 3200mhz cl14 and also at the same time 2 Hynix A die Flare X was introduced at a lower frequency.

But any way, all this were the past*. The current Agesa bios updates has matured and getting any ram modules now at the rated 3200mhz speed are much easier to hit advertised speeds as compared to the past. And now with Ryzen 2 official ram speed is 2933mhz, it is much easier to hit even 3400mhz to 3800mhz range with proper rated speed rams.

All this we can learn something, whenever there is a new platform launched be it Intel or AMD, a lot of hiccups and also teething issues are there at start. Both the board and cpu manufacturer needs to constantly update their products to keep getting better.
