1155 Mobo kaput, processor/ram/pci E graphics still working, what should I do?

Hi all sexperts

I have a v old motherboard that has a i7 3370 12gb ram. My bios is corrupted and the mobo/s backup from the backup bios failed. So my conclusion is the motherboard has failed. Fairly confident the i7 chip, ram and PCI graphics card still work.

HDD boots up with another older i5 system. So that works too

Question for sexperts here

Can I just simply buy another 1155 socket motherboard (quite a few avail online) and simply plonk everything back in?

Or totally GG, I have to buy new mobo/chip/ram

Only need a basic system to browser, watch youtube in HD and watch mkv/mp4 thats all.

Answers much appreciated.

You can buy another 1155 MB and it should work with your existing components.

Windows and other software would probably need to be reactivated.

Alternatively, you can sell off the CPU and DDR3 and upgrade to a Ryzen setup.

I have a very retro win 8.1 setup that boots with many different setups and will simply use that to boot, no reactivation needed.

Made in China OEM board.

I'm not familiar with such boards. There's the Shopee guarantee so you can test the board and return if it doesn't work.

Exactly. Yes, they are indeed compatible with one another. Yes, your specification source for the motherboard appears to be incorrect. LGA 1155 and LGA 1150 are not compatible with one another, but that does not matter since H81 is a Haswell chipset, and ALL Haswell motherboards are LGA 1150.

what Gigabyte board are u using

try re-seating ( take out and put back) ur CPU again, sometimes it triggers the Bios to go to recovery mode

plug in to ur on board gpu only/ram

No need plug in gpu

if that doesen't work

https://skyjuiceiswater.blogspot.com...oard-bios.html

use method 4

if all fails, get a replacement board from carosuell/aliexpress it's still cheaper compared to a whole new set (mbo+cpu+ram)

PM me if you are planning to buy from aliexpress, i will give u the seller i used to buy from

suggest u get locally from carosuell. it's faster, no need wait..
