The WD blue 1TB selling at 177 isn't it better

Its a decent drive, but this one don't come with DRAM cache. Instead it takes the system ram to be the cache. Performance wise, the WD Black will be the better drive for about 40 bucks more.

First time building...

Hi all, not sure if this is the place to post, if it is wrong, apologies in advance.

I'm embarking on a first time build and even before i get worried about physically fixing it up, i'm already stressing over what to get!

Some info about my usage...

1) I mainly use my computer for normal use (MS Office, netflix and work stuff) and want to play COD:MW and most FPS. I don't stream my gameplay. Random note but I need at least 6 USB ports on the Mobo cos of peripherals.

2) My current monitor is a samsung S27B550, looking to upgrade this too, probably hoping to play games on 27 or 31 inch in ultra 1080p to med/high 1440p, 60 to 144hz? Any Recommendations would be great but not the priority atm

3) My current PC is i5 4570, GTX 760.. since 2013... so my hope is this com to last me the same amount of time, for 6-7 years. Additional upgrades in between those years would be Ram perhaps?

4) I'm planning to reuse some old stuff on my current PC, mainly 2 SSDs, 2 HDDs and Casing...

5) Any comments and suggestions on the below build will be helpful, whether its overkill, no need for so many storage drives or consideration of other components OR don't buy and to wait for this period to blow over. :)

CPU:
Ryzen 5 3600X($300) or Ryzen 7 3700X($450)

Cooler:
Heard the AMD Cooler is quite good so not sure if I need 1?

Mobo:
B450-F Gaming ($220), Amazon has this but not sure if its flashed to be Ryzen 3000 Ready though. I am considering whether to wait for the B550 or just go up a notch to X570 but not sure if I use any of its additional stuff over B450.

Graphics:
- Asus ROG Strix 2070 Super Advanced 8GB OC Edition ($950) OR
- MSI 2070 Super Gaming X Trio ($940)

Storage:
- 1TB WD Black SN750 Nvme m.2 for OS ($214) based on the last share! Thanks!
- 1TB Sandisk SSD, 500gb Sandisk SSD (Reuse)
- 2x 2TB HDD (Reuse)

Memory: 16gb Ram (8gbx2)
- Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600Mhz ($130) OR
- G. Skill Sniper X 3600mhz ($145) OR
- Thermaltake TOUGHRAM Z-One 3600mhz Non-RGB (Heard this is new)
(Sorry Can't post a link)

PSU:
Seasonic GM 750w 80+ Gold ($159) OR
Corsair RM 750w 80+ Gold ($174)

Casing:
Corsair 275Q (Reuse)

My budget is about $2k (if can spend lower that will be great!) but also don't mind paying abit more if it's "better" for the build.

Hope to hear from you guys! Thank you!

could have been a new topic, but anyway...
if ur not looking to upgrade to ryzen 4k, then b450 is still a decent offering for ryzen 3k. also the sn750 is still a pcie gen 3 ssd, so no point getting an x570 or b550.
if the msi and rog strix gpus are so closely priced, i'd say get the rog strix one. usually rog strix oc their cards a lot more than other oems and have better binned chips.
ram just stay away from thermaltake, never even heard of them in the ram business.

Guys, want to know if buying motherboards and other parts sold from Amazon SG, they have local distro warranty right?

No local distro warranty is my take. Unless you buy from the "Other seller" options and you pick local stores that you know. Like I see Bizgram on it. I previously purchase only from Amazon US, so not sure if Amazon SG will have local warranty or not. But I suspect no.

Good to know, almost pulled the trigger at Amazon SG, will be getting from a local shop then.

At this point, most motherboards on Amazon are not attractive. So if you need one, may be good to get from SG sellers. If you find a good deal on Amazon, it is still worth getting there.
