Interesting that a lot of the MSI boards ALSO have a heatpipe, like the passively cooled Gigabyte Aorus, but they STILL have a fan. Hmm. I think MSI could have had more passive boards.

i would say msi x470 gaming plus is a good shout... but if x570 gaming plus is another few tens away, would gladly go for a full fledge 3K combo. BIOS update on older gen sure slower than current gen.

what u get from MSI is:
  1. very2 decent components especially VRM
  2. quite frequent BIOS update
  3. Daisy Chain for better dual DIMMs memory OC

Unless u need sli and other extra features, b450 is better value.

May I asked, for installation of M.2 SSD, is there any particular slot which I should prioritize?

I am using Aorus Master and it has three slots; the only restriction I know of, is that if the last slot is used, it will disable two of the SATA ports. Other than that, any other limitations, i.e. speed, if I use other slots?

I am thinking of using the last slot for easy installation and removal.

Thanks!

What type of SSD do you use?

SATA or NVMe?

If NVMe, install it at the closest m.2 port to CPU (Top).

If SATA, at the most bottom port.

Thanks for the advice. I will be using PCIe4, NVMe.

I took a closer look at the manual and it seems like, for Aorus Master, only the middle and last slot supports PCIe 4.0.

Integrated in the CPU (M2A_SOCKET):
1 x M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 SATA and PCIe 3.0 x4/x2 SSD support)

Integrated in the Chipset (M2B_SOCKET/M2C_SOCKET):
1 x M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2242/2260/2280/22110 SATA and PCIe 4.0 (Note 1)/3.0 x4/x2 SSD support) (M2B_SOCKET)

Should not be any issue.

You must first understand Ryzen PCIE lanes.

There is total 28x lanes in Ryzen 3000 series.

Of which, 4x lanes goes to the chipset. This 4x lanes that goes to chipset. The user has to choose, either u go for SATA ports, or you use it for m.2 nvme. If you choose to go for m.2 nvme, they will disable a few SATA ports instead. This m.2 slot that is connected to the chipset is usually the bottom slot m.2... or the last pcie slot.

The rest of the 24x lanes will be distributed to the pcie slots.

Some high end x570 have 3 m.2 slots. 1st 2 slots are direct to the cpu.

If you choose to put 2 gpus, you will run it at x8x8. The remaining x8 is divided into x4x4 for first 2 m.2 slots.

So in all you should not be running out of pcie lanes. Not unless you go for triple gpu set up.

And all m.2 slots are not hindle by speed. And all are supporting x4 gen 3.0 lanes.

All are pcie 4.0. Read the website. Lol

The only difference is, your 2nd slot is connected to the chipset.
