Still not advisable to get this monitor.

Bought a PG279Q from Fuwell 2 days ago.

Take a look at this:



Brightness 65, contrast 50. Low light room. See the two bright spots at the right corner? It doesn't go away at any angle or distance.

Currently emailing Asus to get a 1 for 1 exchange. If it fails, I will consider escalating the issue

I'm concerned why the one received by RTINGS is so good compared to the rest. Like that how to trust reviews, at least those units sent by manufacturers.

FWIW, I've had monitor that developed that light blob towards the end of warranty and the manufacturer changed a new one for me (not going to mention who in case I sound fanboi-y)

rtings test at 100 cd/m2, so osd brightness maybe abt... 15?

I am waiting for one particular TS quoting and saying that bigger 4k monitors can get $600
and people still get 1440p resolution from 2011
And smaller 4k monitor price around $300

Using brightness at 15 is dubious to test for BLB and uniformity. How many people actually set the brightness at 15?
