I am currently using i5 3470 paired with Gigabyte Motherboard B75M-D3V & 8GB DDR3 667Mhz Kingston. What can I upgrade to complement my existing gtx 1070? Budget is around 300-500. Just needed to be on par the gtx 1070 so it will not bottleneck.. Thanks!

You can consider the following on the second-hand market -

i7-3770 around $180
8GB DDR3 $60 to $80

Upgrade ram to 2x8gb ddr3 1333mhz or 1600mhz ram if can. Otherwise, not much bottleneck for AAA titles, only will have bottleneck if you trying to do 144hz gaming (which is both cpu and gpu demanding)

i7-3770 if you can afford

I have a similar setup, also a b75m board with i3. does this mean not much point to getting a new board and all, and more worth it to just upgrade cpu and ram?

DDR4 is too ex now so it makes sense to use back as much of your existing setup as possible until you want to do an entire new rig.

You can consider upgrading the i3 CPU to i7-3770 or i7-2600 (about $120).

You have to decide for yourself whether it is worth it. The whole point is to reuse existing components if possible to fit into your budget.

Otherwise, just go for a new CPU+MB+RAM combo, though you will probably need a bigger budget.

I have DDR3 rams, those 1.5V 2 X 2GB. Any recommend CPU and Mobo for them? Going to use for YouTube at 1080p. Prefer with built in sound and gfx.

G3258 is an i3 level system while g4560 is an i5 level system both comparing to third gen.

G4560 is more usable for $10 over g3258
Ddr4 and 3 price same.either will do

just go for a basic setup...
G3258 + Asrock H81-HDS R2.0 = $164

hmm... which MB r u referring to that can take DDR3 1.5V 2 X 2GB :s11:
