Hi guys, trying to build my 1st pc with my bro
This is what we thinking of rn

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
MOBO: B450 Pro carbon AC(need wifi) ~$458 for mobo and cpu
GPU: GTX 1060 6gb ~$288 /RX 580(but i saw the shops like more ex sia)
RAM: LPX vengeance 3000mHz 8gbx2 ~$189
SSD: 500gb m.2 samsung evo 860 ~$149
HDD: seagate barracuda 1tb ~$57
PSU: seasonic focus plus 550w gold ~$135
Case: nzxt h500/ meshify C ~$115/$135

Total: $1391 before gst/windows(dynacore pricing)

Any advise pls? Our budget about $1500(possible to haggle till this price?), we play games only 1080p.

Would be nice if there were deals outside of sim lim that i could snag!

Change psu to superflower eco silver 600w at $99.

Prices stated in pricelist shld be inclusive of gst liao. If they charge u for it, just walk out of shop. No repercussions whatsoever.

You can look at qoo10 and lazada for deals but always compare back to pricelist for reference. And i would use a few SLS shops to compare as well. Popular ones are pc theme, cybermind, etc.

for windows 10, you can get from lazada for less than 6 bucks.
for cd drive, u can forgo it but 25 dollars only, if u really need it then go ahead
i think you spending too little on GPU liao. 1660TI only for 1080p gaming. your mobo and processor so good, but spend on such a low/mid end gaming gpu. should at least go for 2060/2070

wait for better expert to give u advice

It really depends on what sort of games you are trying to play. If you're trying to do 1080p 144hz, there's no need to spend so much money. Ryzen CPUs are much better value and I would recommend getting a Ryzen 2600 with the B450 Carbon Pro AC (total comes to less than $500), saving you at least $250. You can use the money to buy an RTX 2070 for about $750+ which is 50% faster than the 1660 Ti. As for your SSD, take a look at the Adata SX8200 which is much cheaper for similar performance.

Hi all

My old build is giving me intermittent powered up when boot up. it restart every 10 secs or so

i googled and notice most likely something is short inside.
need help for a budget build..
Preferably within 500sgd

If possible, I will reuse my hdds and ssd and monitor and keyboards and mouse. hopefully can reuse ram as well.
The rest will have to get new stuffs.

Mainly use for streaming shows and work using microsoft office.
Hopefully it will be fast enough for multitasking
Need some recommendations

Hi guys, need some advise as I've lost touch with PC tech long time ago. Recently I was given a MSI R9 390x graphics card and a Cooler Master V750 PSU. And I have a spare 24" monitor at home. So I'm planning to build a system for my kid. Going to be mainly used for web surfing and MS office, maybe some light gaming.

Prefer the form factor to be as small as possible, and of course most value for $ parts, and can last 3 years or more. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Upgrade

hi guys, thinking of upgrade.. my current PC specs as below

CPU - i5 6500
GPU - Palit GTX1070
Mobo - MSI B150M Bazooka
RAM - Crucial 8gb (x2) DDR4 2133mhz CL15
HDDs - Two SATA3 HDDs & 1 SSD
PSU - Superflower Leadex Silver 550W
Casing - Corsair carbide spec-03

Now, i'm looking for upgrade due to heavy 4k video editing needs, so it seems the best upgrade is on the processor to a i7-9700k. With that i probably also need to change my mobo (seems recommendations are Z370 mobo). Question is... is it easy (or cost efficient) to upgrade just the CPU & mobo? Is there anything else i need to consider? I'm trying to avoid changing my whole setup unless it's really outdated

Notes:- i don't have heavy gaming needs currently, but the upgrade path should allow me to upgrade GPU to RTX series or the next gen (if any lol) if possible.
