well that is the normal speed, or default timing. u can still tweak around to goes beyond it. so long u have intel xmp ram setting u can oc higher.

itx mobo

Hi all,

I'm looking at a new skylake build at the moment, and intending to do a small form factor build.

I don't intend to overclock, and am thinking of going for an i5-6600.

Does anyone have recommendations for a motherboard? Looking to spend under $500.

Have considered the following:

MSI B150I PRO GAMING AC
ASUS B150I PRO GAMING/WIFI/AURA
ASROCK H170M ITX AC
GIGABYTE H170N WIFI

but am not sure which to go with.

I'm going with a single SSD setup, so don't need RAID support.

Does anyone have any experience with the above boards? Also willing to consider other options. Thanks!

Hi guys, new to building desktop.
My budget is around 1.5k to 1.8+++k.(preferably 1.5k but if really cannot, can extend)
I will be doing Photoshop work and some 3d model work. Also for programming as well. Booting windows and Linux as well. I like to tinker with stuffs so will be nice if I can overclock. Will be buying a graphic card for gaming in december so no graphic card is needed for now.

Required:
16gb
I7k if possible(i5k or just normal i7 is okay if my budget can't do it)?
Wifi
More USB ports the better
Monitor 1080p IPS will do(1440p possible for this budget?lol) <- choice of monitor affects my choice of graphics cards?
One 1TB and one 4TB hdd
Ssd not really a must
Modular PSU
Casing no need to be fancy, can fit everything good enough

I hope I gave enough information. If I don't, kindly tell me! Feel free to correct me if i am wrong. Thank you and I appreciate the help

but is ur monitor a gaming one or normal usage? normal usage maye 1.65 ~1.7 can for 1080p, but 1.8k maybe can get 1440p (still prefer if u can wait till comex show on sept, but that is way too long)

Use for both game and normal. 1080p should be enough for me. I just prefer a color accurate one for digital art. Gaming wise, counterstrike and new AAA titles with the desktop I'm getting. Also im getting an AMD graphics card if you need more info for the monitor ports. Thanks (:
