DDR3 1866 mhz rams really that bad?

Many have pointed out to me that I should swap out the DDR3 1866 mhz rams. Are DDR3 rams really that bad for gaming in 2018?

Using ddr2 667mhz on an Intel Core Duo now

Depending on your system, at what occasion do you happen to determine that you're limited by RAM frequency and bandwidth?

Huh ddr3 ram is ok ma. Still can game no problem. Ram speed is important for ryzen system and they are using ddr4 ram anyway. Intel system ram speed no diff in performance one. Ddr3 8gb no enough upgrade to 16gb lo.

For DDR3 speed does not really matter. The difference between 1600 and 2400 is minimal.

Has been using ddr 3 ram from 2009. The last processor change I got to buy mobo that supported it. Those days it cost $25 for 4gb and max out the 4 slots.

I used to use 1866mhz RAMs for my i5-2500k rig. No regrets. Upgraded from 1333mhz.

Made a huge difference in min fps in many games.

Now I am using only 3000mhz for DDR4 with my i5-8600k overclocked to 5ghz. Plan to get 3666mhz in future.

Any evidence of this claim that DDR3 is bad for gaming? If you are using integrated graphics, I would agree, but not with dedicated graphics. People who just blindly look at the bandwidth don't understand that the gains in bandwidth, i.e. DDR4 3000, is at the expense of the ram timing. DDR3 1866 by the way is generally faster than one at DDR4 2133 and should perform close to 2400.

To correct you, this is not a view but a fact. You can look up and see how much performance improvement will increased bandwidth bring. And it is a fact that DDR4 2133 is slower than DDR3 1866 simply because the increase in latency negates the faster clock.
