but 2k that is really expensive :s22::eek:

2k upgrade system to do what? You need to realize that almost all kinds of work related things (aside from say heavy computational processing things like if you're doing video editing, or maybe some kind of scientific research or whatever) a 2k PC built 5 to 7 years ago will still work wonders.

If that's the case, it is wise to spend money to upgrade other things that actually matter, the chair which you spend much time on is one of the most important things.

2K to upgrade your system to type Word documents and excel sheet is, as you would put it, "really expensive :s22::eek:".

I used the following chair for a number of years before upgrading to the Aeron. Its good quality, sturdy and offers decent customization.

The QM1 looks like the one I got from V-hive years ago.

Carousell. Look out for steelcase & haworth as well and they aren't half bad.

Hi All,

here sharing my experience 3 months or more back, hope this can help some of you.
what i learnt:
Priority #1. Get a chair that will force you to sit in proper posture.
Priority #2. Then follow by comfort.

Background:
i am those kind can sit in front of my PC one whole day or more.
so i was using this mesh chair below $50 from "yoke" for years, i was starting to get lower backache.
the lower backache get worst as days goes by.
so i plan to replace my chair.

First thing that came to my mind was gaming chairs like Dr racer, noble chair, secret Lab.

So i went to try out secret lab first.
At IT show. i went to try out titan.
i was like oh. this is comfortable.
However there were some issues:
1. The chair feels warm, those like trapping heat kind.
2. I am short, 163cm. so my legs also short. but their chair depth is longer than my butt to knees, so i am not able to sit all the way in naturally, which kind of make me slouch.
3. when i tilt back, it just feels insecure.
4. when you look at the details. especially the color of the thread.. is just super ugly.
And it didn't feel right.
So when i compare the above and the price, i kind of hesitated. i decided to read up more.
Then i realized that gaming chairs are actually not Ergonomically built.
its just comfortable and cool looking.

So i end up finding out about herman miller, steelcase, ergohuman.
when i first saw the ergohuman, i completely fall in love with it. it looks so comfortable. but sadly, i was not able to find any store selling it.
you can google it, the one with leather seat, mesh back, headrest AND leg rest.

Then i was looking at herman miller aeron, as there was quite a number of people saying that this is the chair to get.
knowing its expensive, i tried to look at second hand at carousell.
Saw the cheapest was at ~700, *those with full functions and the posture fit thingy.
but being so expensive. you confirm want to try first ma.
so i went to "xtra designs" to try it.
so when i first sit on it, what i felt was disappointment.
i was like, huh, why is everyone recommending this.
although my posture is there, but it really feels uncomfortable for me. not those i can sit whole day kind.
then i tried size A,B,C to confirm. all just doesn't feel right.

As i was feeling lost, i glanced at herman miller embody chair. although it doesn't looks comfortable, but since i am here, i might as well give it a try.
But the moment i sat on it! i went like, Oh Wow!
Seriously Comfortable, especially the seat base. The feelings is quite special. its Not the foam kind.
i do not know how to describe the feeling to you. i will advise you to go give it a try.
i also felt that my sitting posture is good too.
it feels super right.
BUT the price tag!! 2K+++
So i tried to find if there are any second hand, cannot find any.
only cheapest i found was "unwanted imports" $2035
So i tried to psycho myself as i really like the feeling of chair.
i went like 2035 / 12 years as it has 12 year warranty.
so its like 160 per year. okay ma. what are the odds of other cheaper chair to last 12 years
one month around $14. for a good chair i like, why not. and its cheaper than my phone bill.

So i end up buying it. Used it for 3 months already.
I would like to mentioned the cons first:
1. The "spine" adjustment is really quite hectic and tiring process. you might be setting to this today and feels good, but maybe few days later it will start to feel slightly weird.
so i keep adjust and adjust until one day i don't feel weird anymore and just stick to it.
2. i am still feeling the pain for the cost, but no regrets

So now, the Pros
1. my lower backache disappear. no more.
2. i can really sit on it whole day, and still feel comfy.

hope above information helps
-end

Thanks for sharing your experience. Very helpful. Where did you buy the embody?

Tbh anything below 1k mesh chairs are all made in China.

Can't find any good ones. Was in Germany, I tried some very good ones that are about 500 euro and fully made in Germany. Wanted to bring some back. :o

from unwanted imports.

*However only has 1 color/design. but cheaper than "xtra design"

I know that you can choose your color and fabric at "xtra design" but more expensive.
I remember got quite a number of colors. like more than 20 kinds.
i think can up to $300 differences depending on the fabric.
