Yup ergohuman don't give enough lower back support, the mesh is too soft maybe the leather version work better. Just bought a 2nd hand haworth X99 executive but haven't try it yet. So far Aeron posture fit give the best lower back support. Steelcase leap is alright but cushion a little too thin. Humanscale Freedom is not bad too but the headrest push too forward when u try to rest on it but it give the best warranty support.

You can probably find them at taobao at a fraction of theprice if you really appreciate it.
:o

yeah I saw some similar looking chairs on taobao but unsure of qualities. Not needing one atm but will keep that in mind. If my back needs more tlc then I will get HM ;)

This one is in my taobao watchlist. It looks pretty ok, cheaper than SG but not exactly at a fraction of the price of SG's.

This is another one. also about SGD400 excluding shipping.

so including shipping I am not sure should I take the risk if I need one (Not looking to get one atm). Probably not. GG if got problem.

Didn't check aliexpress though.

Don't that resemble the so call exclusive neue chair? :o

kingkongpingpong 24-03-2019 07:26 PM

sounds like you need a better chair.

Try Ergohuman. Mine coming to 10 yrs this Nov and still ok. I am sitting on it while typing this. The only issue is the castor wheels, couldn't last (the rubber cracked). But I have found cheap replacements from taobao so that is fine too.

I think they Oem from here, Chongqing Gaotian Industrial Trade Co.,ltd, change a few parts like the frame mechanism. But still Usd190 per pc, min order 20 pc. Let say they choose higher quality material, Usd250 per pc x 20 pc = Usd5,000 plus shipping and gst etc. If they sold all 20 pc at Sgd799 = Sgd15,980, quite profitable if you are dare to venture into it.

Not say china copies are bad or you cannot oem them, but they mark up really high, warranty should cover the mesh hold up for 12 years. HM pellicle really tough and taut after years of use.

Even Herman Miller's warranty don't cover the mesh as it's considered normal wear and tear.

But the Aeron chairs do last quite well unless heavily abused.

What chair would you recommend then? The leap is comparable to the herman miller aeron.

Hi all,

My computer room is based around a "Muji" Aesthetic and I was wondering if there is any (budget) chairs out there that you'd recommend that is minimalistic looking?

Ergonomic - Unchecked

I would say my budget is <$300? Not sure if this will be able to get me anything durable.

can consider SAIL ERGONOMIC CHAIRS in qoo10. It is a decent chair. Use $50 discount for the weekend to push the price down to 419-50 = $369.

zephyr11 30-03-2019 05:58 PM

wanted to share, i got some rollers, from unwanted imports, for the aeron, the $89 ones, quite good i must say, it does "grip" the floors better.
