HELP CPU cooler screws cannot reach motherboard

I’m trying to install a hyper 212 onto my tomahawk max motherboard, but the screws on the cooler just won’t reach the motherboard. What am I missing?

That part loos correct. Can you show a pic of the mount and screws you used on the cooler?

Specifically, page 8 (step 7) of your manual shows how to install the braces onto the cooler

That's the newer one. He's on the older 212 I think based on his backplate.

the 212 evo has a pretty crappy mounting mechanism.

good thing that CM has changed to a different mounting mechanism in the new version of the 212 evo.

You’re right. It’s terrible. Turns out you’re actually supposed to force it down based on what I’ve read from other forums. I really didn’t think I would need to use so much force thanks to the crappy springs in the brackets...

Problem solved alr. My temps just went from 75 - 90 on the stock cooler, to 58-71 degrees. Tested by benchmarking Ac Odyssey. Massive improvement. Thanks all
