Cant ****ing go 2 minutes on prime95 with 3.6 ghz auto without temps shooting up to 81 deg. Seriously have no idea whats wrong. Kinda regret buying a ryzen now. I've been trying to oc for a month now and its been nothing but trouble for me. Can anyone help?

Edit: On auto settings, my chip go to 73 degrees.
Wtf is wrong with this ****? I waited for 2 weeks for Lazada to give me an even more crappy chip.

73 prime95 is normal..... esp on stock cooler im not suprised to see 80-90 degrees.

if u want magic temperature pls upgrade ur cooler - u can set ur expectation with below link.

psa - if ur using water AIO - do note ur temps might be lower but ur VRM's are no longer cooled...

what is default settings? default settings is underclocked? default settings overclocked? default settings =/= best settings.
thats y we tweak in the first place!

default only guarantees serviceability. did ryzen promise u prime95 temps?

prime95 is going to heat up anything can that is what its supposed to do. even my current voltage can hit 70degrees in prime95 with stock rgb cooler - and its undervolted!

i can tell u can change a few more ryzen - ur result will be the same unless u modify ur setup or ur expectation

https://www.techspot.com/review/1379...00x/page7.html

conclusion: OC pls dont use stock cooler.

Sorry, just kinda frustrated since I've been trying to get even a stable oc for a month. When I say default I mean auto-voltage and auto-frequency. Its not too big of a deal though, it sort of overclocks itself to 3.4ghz anyway.I'm more annyed at the fact that I can't get my ram to run at to run at its rated speed withut crash. I'm probably gonna just leave my pc on optimized defaults, overclocking is sort of a hassle, and I'm ok with my gaming performance rn.

Ryzen overclock issit permanently running at such high settings?

Like even if there's minimal system load it still runs very hot and drain energy?

I rmb Intel like I'll downclock if there's no load or sth... Not sure Ryzen.

Read up and learn. Update ur bios for ram compatibility, learn to oc it goes a long way. If not pay people to do it for you.

I mean, auto got me the best results? I tried going 3.7-3.8 ghz but temps were going to 90-ish when I manually set the voltage to 1.25-1.35 so I gave up on that. I tried ocing to 3.6ghz with the lowest possible voltage I could go but I kept getting temps of about ~85. So I went to auto and got 80 degrees which is the best temps I've gotten. I've tried a bunch of other things too, changing the positions of my fans, updating my bios to the latest version, screwing in my cooler more tightly, getting new thermal paste, replacing the cpu, but I'm still getting 80 degrees. Then I try ocing the ram and its seemingly stable, but then BAM! BSOD. So yeah, I've tried pretty much everything I could find on the internet... Ocing doesn't provide that much benefits, does it? Right now its srsly not worth the trouble for me.

Oc only provide bragging rights lolz...chill la, if gaming purpose..oc gpu can already. But ram cannot run at rated speed really should be pissed coz you did pay a premium for that higher mhz.

Yeah, well actually cpu sort of ocs on its own tho. Ram can just wait until update come out for mobo right?
I have a gigabyte gtx 1070, so I guess I can just use their oc mode or whatever
