Any comment on this setup? (such as overkill or bottleneck in some area)

Overkill ram and cpu cooler. 16gb enough le. Since cant OC cpu, no need so big cooler.

Why the need for 860evo 250gb and 860evo m.2 500gb? Might as well just use the 500gb for OS and some games. Other stuff can put inside a hdd.

rather you cut down on the ram to put more budget into your gpu

The setup is for Gaming and running VMs (run 3 VMs).
The rest is simple surf net and MS doc usage.

If you wish to run 3 VMs, I suggest going Ryzen R7 2700X or 2700. It has more cores/threads. The IOMMU grouping is also better on Ryzen motherboards, especially X470 Taichi

Also, GPU By-pass is working well on AMD too.

You can also use ECC DRAM on Ryzen if required for running VMs that are sensitive.
