3DMark TimeSpy Ranking :

1. 16,827 = Core i9-10900K + Gigabyte 3080 Vision OC
2. 16,736 = Ryzen 9 5900x + Asus 3080 TUF
3. 15,612 = Ryzen 7 3800x + Asus 3080 Strix OC
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.

Currently this is the TimeSpy ranking in this thread which I hope can provide future 3000 series users a basic guideline on how their GPU perform when pairing with specific CPU.

Any comments is most welcome

Asus ROG Strix 3090 + 9900k - 18,293

Looks like my CPU is bringing the Time Spy Score down by a lot. Looking at the charts, 5950X CPUs are the chart toppers for the owners of the RTX 3000 series cards.

PS. I haven't gotten around to strapping an AIO cooler yet to my GPU. So the GPU scores are the Asus Strix in its original card form but a slight OC was applied.
Literally a 2 min OC job. So it is a safe OC to ensure stability as opposed to pushing the card to its limits to test its OC performance.
And as a side note, I have the GPU bios set to Silent operation as opposed to Performance. As I prefer less dust over time. So I don't mind it getting a little toasty as seen by the GPU temps with its default air cooling.
And yes, I don't have 3200MHz XMP On for my RAM. xD

Wow very impressive score exceeding 18,000 points

your achievement of OC for both GPU and CPU clock frequencies is not easy to maintained by normal users without experience

Why is your CPU score very low?
Your 9900k should be around 12k for CPU score.
I'm at 13,755 for my 9900ks on Timespy.

I'm at 13,600 for my 9900ks on Timespy.
I just use auto OC.

The problem is that when I do a BIOS update, it wipes out my OC settings.
After months and years, I will obviously not be able to remember what my OC was. So I just left it at auto.

Any tips and tricks for this OC noob? I want to be able to use different C-States to ensure low power consumption on idle.
