The new bigger cooler for Strix RX580, GTX 1070ti and GTX 1080ti seems very powerful!

Using just air cooler, temperature can go as low as 23 degree C with aircon temperature of 26 degree C.

Plus the fan for the my Strix RX580 is off.
Idle temperature at 23 degree C seems to be on par with water cooling?

Anyone can go lower than 23?
Please don't tell me you turn aircon to 16, then maybe idle can be 18?? LOL:s13:

Just curious as to why idle temps are impt? Should full load temp be more impt? Its like buying a ferarri and keeping it at home. lol.

Personally I like to try for lowest temperature possible for GPU lol
It seems like idling, temp can go as low as possible.
for gaming, it runs around 50-55 degree C with aircon on at 26 degree C.
Full gaming load.
Trying to push it below 50 degree C seems hard for my AMD card
maybe 1070ti strix can achieve it??

Im running a 45mm thick 360mm rad + 80mm thick 240mm rad, and am getting around 50degC stress test load on my single 1080ti. My room does not have aircon so its running on normal ventilated air.

U can try full fan speed on your GPU and see if it makes a difference.

Full fan speed, noise will be unbearable even for new strix series lol
only MSI Gaming x is bearable at 100%.
I think if I on full fan speed and aircon at 20-22 degree C
full load gaming should be 45-50 degree C.

20-22 degC after some time idling or when PC just booted? And how is it possible to be lower than ambient temp?

The load temps varies because different games apply difference load to the GPU. If you are so obsessed with the temps, you should try running some benchmarks.

Honestly, it doesn't matter if it is 23 degs at idle or 55 at load. When you game, that is not going to be part of your consideration anyway. Also, you pay a significant premium for Asus Strix series. So it better be good.

Could be possible if the fans are spinning due to concept of wind chill. In this case where the fan is not spinning, it could be a temp probe reading slightly off.

Whats the point of wasting power on aircon just to cool your GPU when it is not overheating? That's downright silly. You end up freezing as well because of your obsession.

your mileage is way under the threshold... i dont see a point or any benefits for you to get it below 50 degree celcius especially when it comes to gaming performance or the lifespan of the card unless you are trying to overclock your card to squeeze more juice out of it

for air cooled gpu, there is a limit for temperatures unless you are talking about custom WC rigs. Is either you sacrifice acoustics (increased fan speed) or sacrifice aesthetic (running open bench or with case side panel open) for temperature improvements.

My gtx 1080 with 2 x 240mm thin rad is about 32 degree on idle and 50 degrees on gaming (but that is without aircon switched on)

Actually... MY current 1070FE, idle temp (basically just web surfing) is ard 40. Hot weather ard 43. That is on 30% fan speed. Load wise 100% is 70 max, fan is 80%.

Ok la. MY FE cooler not bad. LOLOLOL.

No lah ok de lah.

Is just that some of us here are on custom water cooling.

Mine is a complete overkill.

1x 360mm & 2x 240mm to cool cpu and 1 gpu only.
