Infinity 4th floor just in front of lift

For Sim Lim, there is a saying
Yi Fen Qian, Yi Fen Huo ( You get what you pay for )

You buy cheap. Service drops
So just get from shops selling @ MSRP should be ok
Anything that is less than MSRP usually
means, service was not factored into the price.

Coz service is a cost centre...

Try out Make Fine. Have been purchasing from them in their old days at Funan, and even now when they have shifted to SLS. Prices are pretty competitive, and their able to provide pretty neat advice for new Builders.

Side note: always ask for carousell quoted price for lower price (:

Why do you need to to get the carousell quoted price to get the discount...

u pay through the nose unless u know someone
all my PC rigs bought from tradepac, i don't know them but i get the cheapest price.
But to know someone you gotta be customer first.

Back in those days, i pretty much shopped based on price
Initially it was cheapest price first

Then i realised it was real stupid coz price of pc components are extremely competitive
Shops can are wiling to give $1 discount just to close the deal.

But the clincher is in the aftersales service
If something goes wrong, cheapo hops immediately point you to distro
Distro means half day leave and $30 to and fro on avg
MSRP shops usually make the problem theirs.

So after a while
Stuck to the big shops and started buying PCs from them
This paid off for me now as the aftersales service is worth more than the $10 savings between the cheapo shops and MSRP shops coz what you save upfront, may not cover the hidden costs you need to spend if something goes wrong.

Hidden cost is not just transport, but can be the upsell tactics to get something to fix an issue when that proposed something has totally no relation to the issue @ hand.

So to original threadstarter

Sim Lim Square is usually meant for System Integrators or wannabe system integrators
Everyshop can do everything but each shop specialises in some things.
Think of them as the contractor, not the ID
Go into each of the shops and see for yourself which shop gives yout good vibes when you step in.
Shops that want to move stuff quickly means less customer interaction quicker sales to close
Shops that focus on service are patient enough to explain stuff without rushing.

There are many shops recommended by the forumners here so they make good starting points.

hmm.. work directly under distro even better isn't it? you get paid, things you get, can be of staff price / discount. anything happened, RMA directly. Save transportation, save time and effort...

ok jokes aside. Trust yourself as in your own instinct. Peeps recommend PC Theme and Fuwell. so try them out, someone mentioned about Dynacore. Indeed they are good especially Mr abdul. He cuts the BS and go directly to the point of your needs. As someone mentioned, for first timer at a shop, it's hard to bargin. I believe if you buy bundle mb and cpu, plus etc like rams, casing, psu and more. you should be able to fetch a good deal or discount.

another option will be newegg SG, I have been observing their prices base on the same item you can find in SLS. Sometimes their prices are 30 to 40 cheaper as their prices goes up slower as compared to Asia countries like HK, SG and JP.
Some Items they sell are pretty rare compared to Singapore, example Mushkin Rams, Intel M.2 and some other boards like the ASRock Z370 Extreme 4 (which enable u to overclock with the non K processor) just like the ASRock Z370 TaiChi. note.. you will need the correct bios to do this.

I got my rams and M.2 from newegg and they are 30 to 40 dollars cheaper. However there are two downside. 1st If needed RMA or DOA, then you will need to ship it back (risk factor involve but so far the items are working fine for me.) 2nd the waiting game for it's arrival.

so the choice is yours.. do not rush into things, take your time to do some shopping and try talking to the sellers (off course do this when they are not busy)

Built 2 rig from fuwell and 1 from pc theme. Never encounter an issue, Although I read here says some shop more bargain example pc theme vs fuwell. But the main thing is you get what you paid for, The issue in Simlim is reputation with some shop really having this bad rep, I preferred previously recommended in this forum normally those type of shop name, so just sharing my preference so far and good experience.
