Wait for gtx 11 series or buy now?

Hi all, I'm looking to build a pc and buy a 1060 or 1070 ti card for my setup. Is it advisable to wait for the newer series to come out or buy the card now?

At this point I'd wait - even if you just want a 1070, wait for the upgrader fire sales

Nice consolidation of all the rumors for the 11 series for your consideration. Based on those, I would wait if you are not in a rush as August looks like a strong month for the release.

Same dilemma over here. The 7.7 deal seems good but it's still above msrp so I would rather sit out.

But then all you are hoping is that you can get the new card at msrp. And assuming the msrp is not higher than the 10 series cards.

If you don't need it, no need to rush into buying. With the GTX 11xx series in tow and to be released sooner or later, you may see more downward pressure on second hand market prices on the older GTX 10xx. Personally, it is best to wait and see at this point.

Its really depend, you wont get asus/giga/msi 1080ti used below 700 even 11 series launched unless u wait till 3-5 years times.. Its about the performance till present gaming requirement ""
unless that is a game that requirement min spec using amd threadripper/intel i9 with titan v/1080ti to play at low setting..

So the answer for sure is u can wait or buy at a reasonable price, as 11 series wont be much cheaper in performance than anything..

Another thing is if nvidia launch their asus/giga/msi 1180s series msrp at below 1k then your wait is good hook..

If your new build is using 1080p monitor
current generation of gtx 1060 will last you for 60hz
or gtx 1080 for 144hz 1080p.

if your new build is using 1440p monitor 60hz,
can go for gtx 1080 now too

but if your new build is using 1440p monitor 144-165hz
I suggest you wait for gtx 1180
should get you 165hz for most games.

that's what many think about those who bought 980ti/980 just months before the 10 series release then the bump was actually huge their class was just same range as 1060 lol.

so I suggest if its really already rumored launch this year is to wait otherwise if its that important for you get a mid range GPU

Well, last heard nvidia is stuck with lots of stock and I am hoping to grab cheaper 10 series card when 11 comes out. Not in a hurry so I can wait.

As cheap in what way? U need define which 10 series u want, those gpu in the higher series normally are for 4k/144mhz monitor to make it even..
If you using 1080p or 1440p you dont even need high range gpu also..

At least below msrp I guess(And I don't have to use flash coupon and stuff to get the price I want). Looking at 1060/1070 since I am still on 1080p.
