Latest clarifications I received at an rma process at Vector recently:

1. LIFETIME WARRANTY refers to the lifetime of the product you bought. It does not refer to *your* lifetime. Once a product is discontinued, and no old stock is available for in-warranty replacement, the warranty is not applicable but you will be offered an equivalent product. If your product is out-of-warranty, you will be offered an equivalent product for a small processing fee.

2. Take a photograph of the packaging, especially the Vector sticker, and the receipt during purchase. Keep these images in a safe place and if you ever need to rma, you only need to print out these images to claim your warranty service. I reiterate: you MUST print out the images and not show them on your laptop or mobile phone to Vector staff.

3. Finally, a reminder that warranties do not cover data loss. Data is precious and priceless, so a reminder from the staff there: never assume memory products last forever or do not malfunction --- backup your data frequently!

Can I confirm that Sandisk warranty is lifetime right?
Gosh sometimes it is not we don't want to keep the packaging.
But most we either tear/cut the package thus throw away liao.

Won't forget my first time at Vector, the packaging I throw already
but they will still RMA for me. However they remind me
not to throw the packaging.

Just how many actually keep the packaging?
Meaning no packaging can just send to Sandisk HK?
Need to raise ticket or not?

Not very familiar with Sandisk RMA overseas, but fortunately most
of my Sandisk products are rather reliable expect one bad egg.

the s/n will wear out over time. the packaging also show more details for better recognition. They are not only dealing with 1 claim, they are dealing with hundreds or maybe thousands per day. Then, need to deal with those unreasonable consumers.

the sticker is to verify, item is sold under that specify distributor.

it can also be a requirement by the manufacturer, to be return together with the packaging.

If come the extent they need to deal with thousands of cases a day, the product istotally unreliable already.

hard to explain, there are a lots of funny consumers trying to claim warranty. s/n can also be defaced... even the color also change color...

they can check serial number in according with their database, but have to subjected whether they want to do it anot.

Technology can speed things, but it can also open up for another loophole.

Vector magnetics and convergent.

Both have warranty sticker on the packaging.

AND.....

You need to return, invoice, packaging AND the mSD adapter.

I have tried a couple of times that without an mSD adapter they will simply reject. Without the packaging also reject.

And don't tell them you use your mSD with car dash cam. Bloody Vector Magnetics reduce my warranty to 2 years cause it was not intended for car usage. Wtfbbq.

For car usage, must buy the high endurance kind.

Yes correct. As San disk has number of agent. They need the package too to confirm item is sold by them.
