Sony brings back the same 40mm closed-back form factor while adding an extra tweak from its S$2,599 sibling - the MDR-Z1R.

Same design as previous but a lot of underhood changes.
Like cutting down the weight as well as very surprising
lowering the impedance from 48ohm to 16ohm.

What that simply means is compatible with HP and will
not suck that much battery especially on beat heavy
tracks like techno/dance.

You don't need a DAC to drive it for maximum performance.
If there is a launch event do invite me,
I own Sony MDR-1RMKII -> MDR-1A and most likely this.
