For real? Isn't it stated that shipping weight is 2 pounds?

I don't know about the AD700 but I'm currently using a AD900. For people who are used to muddy & bloated bass, you would probably find this to be bass shy. It isn't at all. You can definitely feel the impact of the bass. Of course, noting that I'm talking about the AD900, not so sure about the AD700. I don't see a huge improvement for the AD900 when amped.

YMMV
i bought the senn hd595 during lightning sale, and shipped it to borderlinx. this package was combined with a few bottles of supplement i bought separately from amazon, and the total package was just about 3kg.

i think the package for the senns is about 1kg or so, as the package for my supplements is about twice the size of the former. i will think the ad700 box shd be about the same size.

Personally I find the DT990 to be too bassy, it was only a short 5 minute listen but I simply couldn't take it.

Still good price for it, considering it is retailing at $500+

If you mean for gaming use, DT990 is a fave for a few on head-fi, other than that you could consider AKGs.

i am not familiar with those but i heard the high end AKGs has large spherical soundstage which theoretically makes good gaming + music headphones, And stereo has them so you might want to give them a good audit before you decide.

Falling behind we have Fischer Audio FA-003, has an equally spherical but smaller soundstage, i personally use this for home-gaming and has served me well, and it comes with 2 earcups = 1 Leather 1 Velour which delivers two different sound signatures, And to me its pretty bang-for-buck, Even much so than DBA-02 within Fischer Audio Products imo but ymmv =))

Hi Thanks,

No i'm not using it for gaming purpose, only have a PS3 and no gaming pc/laptop.

It's used for general listening, doing that via Fiio E7/E9 combo.

Main idea is to get a better headset than the sennheiser HD 555 and i think the price is quite reasonable for the beyerdynamic DT990 250 at 180 USD right? That's about 230 SGD and probably costing around 260++ with air freight to singapore, that's compared to 500+ SGD selling in retail shops in singapore.

Cheers,

Sorry to TS for hijack but I have a question to ask.

Is getting Audio Technica ATH-AD700 pairing with ASUS Essence STX soundcard good for general usage? Like gaming, listening music and watching show.

Not using my AD700 anymore

Might wanna sell my Audio Technica AD700.

Superb soundstage for this price, but I got too lazy putting these cans on. I'm a quick-gamer, 1 round of BC2, 15 mins and I'm off

So, current ATP3 speakers are doing me fine. The AD700 are a waste for my usage, super under-utilized

PM if keen

Cheers!
