DAC recommendation

Hi guys,

Have not been following audio stuff for a pretty long time. Was using Aego M + Tianyun Zero dac years ago (back in the days when the DAC is still popular lol) and my dac died not too long ago.

Are there any recommended good and budget dac around lately? I would just be using Spotify. Also I have been plugging the 3.5mm to 3.5mm directly from my monitor into my aego. Does it make a difference if I connect it into the headphone jack of my chassis? I am using a display port.

Or a DAC is a waste of money hahah. Using Asrock H170M Pro 4

Thanks!!!

if compare to average dac price i think they are ok. Only 4 in my previous recommendation is slightly high end....

TS is getting a DAC as a replacement for his Tianyuan Zero and will be powering his Aego M... Do you think a Chord Mojo will be a good choice price-wise? >< Not to mention a Hugo...

@TS: Trying plugging from the mobo's lineout (not headphone out) into the Aego M and see how big is the drop in quality. If you can accept the drop, then stick with the arrangement, if not, you'll need to look for a DAC.

How much is your budget? For me, the Bifrost MB will probably be the most expensive DAC that I will be willing to pay for at the moment.

Since you are playing Spotify need not go for high end DAC.
The best choice for you is a Creative internal soundcard
will do the job.

For best audio quality best is:
From sound card -> speaker
Instead of routing the audio out to the monitor.
