Thumbs up High resolution Audio discussion | 24 Bit | 32 Bit | DSD/CD/SACD/Blu ray audio

I will be the first to start such discussion, I presume many
are also interested in high resolution audio.

Firstly lately I buy few CDs which they mention it is master in 24 bit
but when I played it.
My media software still shows it is 16 bit so there is there anyway
to enable 24 bit?
The album is "Secert Garden Just the two of us" with 24 bit logo.

Second are there any places that sells SACD or CDs with high resolution
audios?

Red book can only be burnt at 16bit 44.1khz.

SACD need a SACD player and afaik, there's no SACD reader for PC, and the SACD layer is encrypted.

You're just probably reading the red book layer instead of the SACD layer.

IMO there's no discernible difference between 16bit and 24bit assuming the master is the same.

It's so coincidental this thread is started. I am trying to build up my collection of high resolution audio files. Are there any recommended sites for Chinese songs in FLAC, DSD format? Please enlighten.

Even there are but those are classic titles, whether in the future got
any modern titles in high resolution.
Past May I was in HK, didn't found any Chinese high resolution or SACD
there.

High resolution audio is only worth its salt if the recording is of high quality.

Sadly sometimes, it's the audio engineers who damages the song during "mastering". Many of the so called "remastered" songs have lost it's dynamic range(which is what 24bit high res audio is all about).

Not to mention when they passed to digital store like iTunes
the audio quality drop a lot as iTunes use AAC which
have 320kps bitrate.
Frankly after buying few songs on iTunes I have stop as
the quality really is bad and not to mention sometimes
I have used songs for events so such quality not acceptable.

Speaking of mastering, there's an album which imho is very well mastered(reminds me alot of K2 mastered disc)

Olivia 2013 Audiophile Selection

Olivia 2013 Audiophile Selection Mastering Note:
The audiophile selection is carefully handled during the mastering stage. Pure Class A analogue and high resolution DSPs are used to ensure the transparency of the final product. The new version had undergone spectrum editing and processing to enhance the already quality recording. For the final CD master a Pow-r #3 algorithm is applied on the bit transfer to maintain the high quality audio on the final CD. More importantly, the whole remastering procedure is targeted for audiophile playback, without any squeeze on the original dynamic range.
The mastering was handled by Kent Poon who had used the latest Sarcon and Weiss Technology to bring out the Audiophile quality playback sound for Olivia’s songs.
Audiophile Selection is definitely the icing on the cake to your collection of Olivia Ong’s records

This album I have but I'm not unable to get the full 32bit/192
or maybe it is just how the audio is being mastered onto the CD.

All Audio CD follows the same redbook spec which encodes audio at 2 channel 16bit linear Pulse-code modulation at 44KHz.

The other format is SACD which based on DSD standard at 2.8MHz

If you want 32bit/192KHz Audio format, it does not exist yet, at least not in mainstream / online.

Here's a list of place where you can get high resolution content:
HD Music Download Sites (a list) | AudioStream

Locally you can try:
CDHut Online Singapore

Feel kind of cheated but it's just marketing.
