Need recommendation for headphones

Hello guys, I'm currently at loss at to which headphone I should buy. I listen mainly to bass heavy music like trailer music. The cans will be powered by the FiiO E7 + E9 combo.

Willing to spend around 400 bucks on new headphones. Currently looking at the beyerdynamic dt990s but I'm open to more suggestions.

I've heard that the 701/702 lack bass. Might not be true though.

Narrowed my options down to the D2000 and at-esw9. Btw anyone have experience with the ultrasones around my price range?

P.S.
Seems like the esw9's cable is really short at only 4 feet. Will sound quality etc be affected if I use a extension?

im not sure abt de ultrasones. de esw9 w ext cable may affect sound a little, but not everyone can hear de diff. i cant 100% will or not. u hav to try it out at de store by urself to determine it. most likely it will be ok de.

the k701s are more analytical compared to the other phones and if you're looking for a 'fun' sounding pair of headphones, these aren't for you. You can give the HD650 a try though, they are less analytical though are a lot better if you're looking for headphones with more bass than the k701. If you really like the details of the k701 then you can try pairing it up with a tube amplifier to give it more warmth.

I think that it's now a battle between the d2000 and ultrasone hfi 780. Anyone with experience with the ultrasones?

That's what I'm planning to do, when I find the time. Thanks all for helping me narrow down my options
