Recommendations for DAP? Should I get the new Fiio X1 II?

I'm looking for a new DAP as my old iPod battery is getting weak.

My current setup: iPod Nano 4th gen > JDSLab cMoyBB > UE TF10

I listen mainly to rock and c-pop and enjoy the clear highs a little more than bass when listening to music.

I was looking forward to get the new Fiio X1 II, but read that the new UI is abit laggy and the screen is even more pixelated than its 1st gen. But of course the screen resolution isn't my priority in looking for a DAP.

Should I get the X1 II? What alternatives would you guys recommend if I set my budget at $250? Would I be better off getting a 2nd hand DX50 from carousell? Hopefully someone can advise me on a DAP that can go well with my current rig.

how about xduoo X3?

Do some reading.. for sound.. its better than Fiio X1
and some reviews - comparable or better than Fiio X3 ii with wider soundstage.
for laggy UI, Fiio is known to solve the firmware problem quite fast, so no problem there.

But Xduoo suffered the UI problem too.. But we can install rockbox for better UI experience

Im going for a hunt after I got my headphones/earphones end of this year.
At this moment, with my budget of $180, my lists are:
ibasso Dx50 (used)
Xduoo X3
Fiio X1 ii

unless.. bros here have other recommendation for my limited budget.

Since you going bluetooth just get 1 with good bluetooth connection and UI you like.

It depends more on your headphones driver.

Unless you going wired that's another story.

Using Fiio products for a while... no need see batch. they will constantly release updates... just need to update your player's firmware.

I've been following the X1 II thread closely on headfi, and the device looks to be quite unstable. So I actually thought of getting a 2nd hand DX50 instead as it'll be better value for money. But its a poisonous thing cause there'll be a cycle of thinking, "if I top up abit more, I can get a better DAP".

Therefore, I've up my budget to $400 (hopefully can keep it below $350), and be looking at 2nd hand deals.

Currently these are my choices:
DX80
DX90
Fiio X5
AK JR (if I'm lucky)

Are there other 2nd hand options I should be looking into?

Also I wanna ask, does getting a DAP like the DX80 makes having my cMoyBB amp pointless?

A DX80 will most probably sound better than my iPod nano connected to cMoyBB, right?

Is it really needed to get a better DAP like DX80 since I'll most likely be only using IEM (TF10)?

Get a Cowon Plenue D. Within your budget and sound better than those DAP in your list.

Another option is the Luxury and Precision L3, can get second-hand, or open box at 400 or under.
