STAX SRS-3100 Electrostatic Earspeakers System Review

The STAX SRS-3100 Electrostatic Earspeakers System may be the brand’s entry-level offering, it is perhaps fitting to say that it offers an impressive sound quality that rivals with far more expensive reference-quality dynamic headphones. Read more @ Head-Fi.club

I tried them out and the higher models for like an hour and they have a really great sound quality, but I really cant get myself to spend that kind of money for something which feels like a toy. The build quality is pretty horrible to me. It feels like a 10 dollar plastic toy rather than a 1000 dollar headphone system for even the entry level model.

Which was the reason why I scored them a 3 for built quality.

How much does your l700 system?
Is it true that stax headphones can only be driven by stax amp?

Sorry for the late reply.

I heard it with the Stax 353X and found it to be lacking.

Am using it with a Woo Audio energizer (WEE) connected to my Line Magnetic LM518ia amp, sounds alot better to me ( less thin sounding with alot more meat to the mids).
