Got mine delivered last night, not a bad package for 199SGD! Didn't quite like the Aurvana SE because I find it lacked detail, treble sounded muted/fuzzy......I'm a closet treblehead! Anyway, putting the SXFI through its pace with my HD600, will be using my HD800 and AKG K812 later.....I'm a treble and detail guy!

Intermittent lags and distortion and unstable when used on all 96khz settings. IMHO I think it's not bad when used as a sound card without the super xfi effect turned on, but the sxfi effect sounds rather flat deflated and artificial. But it may just be me.

Tested on my mbp. Not enough drivers on the mac as well.

How the sound like with hd600? I still waiting for my hd6xx to be arrived. And also what your connection like? Just SXFI to headphone?

After patching with newest firmware of today, very stable, no more static after playing a certain time.

Converted 3.5mm to XLR to use on my KG Carbon + SR009.
Watching movies and concerts with 5.1, 7.1 has been a joy.
Stereo material still needs improvement as it does not really sound bigger.

Comparing with Smyth Research Realiser A16, A16 still wins using HD800 but the cost of it is 10X.

LiLAsN and tkl23786 like this.

You've tried the A16? Curious how the Out of Your Head software (using A8 hardware to generate the profiles) compares.

You can try it with the HeSuVi software and the included Out of Your Head - Genelec profile:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/hesuvi/

Or to try out the actual OOYH software of course.

I got a 2nd hand one at a good deal, since i am swapping from my current LG G6 to Razer Phone 2 soon. I haven't do head/ear mapping so I can't tell if the Super X-fi function is good,i tired on my LG G6 using the previous owner profile & Didn't like the Super X-fi effect lol, sound artificial.... I did a factory reset and chose EMU Walnut under headphones as spec/Material wise is the closest to my ESW9LTD. Then i did this stupid thing, I know it looks ridiculous but it works and sound better LOL:

thinking of getting this... alot of mixed reviews.

is it really worth it? For music AND gaming? (i'm not a hardcore audiophile or something).. just want something to give some sense of '3D' sound perhaps.

for music, you may want to try [3d surround music player], it is free

just google for "3D Surround Music Player dlandroid", and go to the link from dlandroid.com

Anyone experiencing x-fi auto off. The service chat line said to try another usb cable. Like that helps.

Is telconversation clear and the other party can hear you clearly without much of background noise?

Thanks in advance!
