Going for my wisdom teeth extraction. How many days to recover fully? Any post-surgery precaution to take? Any food to avoid? Thanks

Apical surgery on upper front tooth any side effects?

My gums swollen but no pain then take xray n dome root canal.

But still swelling aft root canal, refer to specialist.
Specialist suspect is tooth tip got chip, which cause the infection. Need do apical surgery..

See video online damn scary sia
don't see online video and scare yourself. heals quite well. no significant side effects. if in future need extract and place implants, that area need bone graft.

just heed the specialist advice. root canal specialists in singapore are very good.

How many days depend on the age and health of the patient. 18yo heals very fast. Some can go batam the next day after surgery. After 24yo healing tends to be a bit slower.

When u sprain ankle in sec school.. very fast recover. when in 30s sprain ankle.. takes long time... so on and so forth...

generally. it would take 4-14 days for pain and swelling to subside. for soft tissue closure.. takes approx 8 weeks. for full bone healing.. 6mths.

smokers or people with compromised immune system like diabetics etc will have a slower healing rate.

Post-surgery advice....
1. Don't spit nor rinse 24hrs after the surgery.
2. Take the first dose of painkiller before the anesthetic wears out and take them regularly. Dont wait until pain then take.
3. No strenous activity.
4. First 3 days cold compress on cheeks. next 3 days warm compress.
5. Avoid hot and spicy food and acidic drinks for first few days. Don't drink using a straw.
6. EAT ICE-CREAM on the day itself once bleeding has stabilises. It helps with pain relief and comfort.
7. No TCM or herbal soups. some herbs may cause bleeding.

Hello, would like to check if I need to do anything to my current dental situation. I have a gap between 2 teeth (which is situated on the side of the mouth, about 5 tooth in from the middle, top row). That area had been mended at least 3 times (had a bad mend and had to go to another dentist to re-mend, etc) and now the gap is a magnet for meat and vegetable scraps.

My question is if I happen to have food stuck there and only remove them at night (since perhaps morning), will it encourage dental issues?

Do I have to get it re-mended yet again? Or is it alright to leave it?

If it has been refilled so many times, another filling may not be better. You should enquire if a crown or crowns can be done to close up the contact. Of if its not possible to get a good contact due to alignment of teeth, then maybe can make the gap bigger such that it will be self cleansing.

Hard to advise without see the actual situation.

removing it at night before sleep is the most important. if you can remove it with interdental brush after meals would be even better.

Hello, I use dental floss to remove between meals (whenever I can / have dental floss on hand). Would like to check what is the difference between dental floss and interdental brushes?

Thank you again!

They perform the same function. if you can floss very well. ie. the floss wraps around the sides of each tooth to scrap plaque off it, then floss is better.

interdental brush is easier to use especially for the back teeth.

floss can clean past the contact point but the brush can only clean below it.

either one is fine if used well.

if kiasu can use both floss and interdental brush. no harm actually.
