Carbon Fiber Laminate.......

you should try looking at Micarta Carbon Fiber sheet..........
I doubt there's such a thing... Micarta is usually cloth or paper impregnated with resin while carbon fiber laminates use carbon fiber strands. I've not heard of anyone mixing the two together. Both are difficult to work with but CF is worst... With polyester resin it's not so bad but most use UV retardant epoxy resin. Anyway the resins (and hardener) are very expensive in Singapore so making small batches in an HDB setting isn't cost effective.

Bench drill would be great.. getting the holes lined up freehand is just
Looks like you're all set! Since CF should be easy to cut just like plastics.
Cutting isn't the problem.... I'm worried about dust management. I'll be checking out a bench drill this Monday (SGD150)... Still have no idea how I'm going to explain this to the missus but the specs seems okay and it'll probably fit in my bomb shelter or service yard.

I use a flex arm clamp to hold a vacuum cleaner next to the vice when I cut and file.. noisy as hell but beats cleaning up the dust
do take step by step pics of your wip if you do!

Ya otherwise the prices aren't worth it. Maybe we can combine an order sometime in future. Right now I'm just admiring my new buys and waiting for my bank account to replenish. Ha...

I checked out a nice small bench drill... Nothing fancy but fits the bill; $136. Being the cheapo spender that I am I'm going to shop around and see if I can get a better deal. I am actually quite surprised. i wasn't expecting it to be less than $200. A Bosch router theat I'm planning to get which is a fraction of it's size costs $145; go figure.
