to ahchek,

If your piping is above false ceiling, i suggest you use 1/2 insulation and let the piping "fly" direct through the ceiling and not use any trunking.
The difference is minor but u have 8 pipings in the same trunking if it is a system 4 so the trunking need to be upsized in order not to squeeze the insulation.

To missyevo,
Why u don't get the agent to fix it for you? As they provide warranty. If you purchase the parts direct from the agent, there is no warranty.

Air-con for new flat

Hi all bros here, I got my new flat in Punggol and want to install aircon in 2 rooms & the living room. Am considering Mit HI, Panasonic or Daikin. I seldom use the aircon, probably only for a few hours in the study room and a few hours in the master bedroom on humid days. The one in the living room will likely be used only when there are guests. Should I still get an invertor in this case?

I was told by an aircon installer that Mit HI spare parts harder to find, and that for non-invertor, only Daikin has a bigger BTU unit for the living room. Is that true?

Air con for 5 room flat

Hi,

I just got a 5 room flat in Punggol and need some advice on aircon for it. I am thinking of having air con in the living room as well but the air con ledge can only put one compressor. If we have a system 4, what size BTU should we have in total? 38K or 28K?

For non inverter, only Daikin has 18k btu fcu for multi split.

If for sys 4, u seldom on all 4 @ the same time, 27k btu is enough.

Hi,

I'm thinking of getting a multi split 4 inverter for my hdb flat. but according to the method of calculation from terumo, my bedroom only requires 5k btu? i wonder how your bedrooms are so much bigger lol. so which would you recommend for 3 bedrooms and living room? the dimensions of bedrooms are around 12sqm, living room is 27sqm. initial price to electricity cost is the issue here as though i may save more by spending more initially, if i spend too much more initially it doesnt really save. btw, usually only 1 aircon is on for around 12hrs in the night and sometimes 2 aircon.

Thought it requires 5k btu, min btu is 9k so take 9k btu.
If use for > 8-10 hrs daily, take inverter.

Actually depending on the load on the Aircon. It might not even take 8-10 hours of daily use to see benefits of an inverter system. As long as the set temperature is reached inverter savings already come into play.

Hi Terumo

Im looking for system 3, for 2 bedrooms (3.1m x 3.9m each) & 1 living room & kitchen due to open concept(2.8m x 10.7m) for my 3room hdb.

which brand & configuration is the best option for non-inverter and inverter respectively?

thanks!

Should I change air con piping?

Hi,

I bought a new place, now thinking if I should just change the fancoil units and compressors or should I redo all the piping.

The existing air cons and pipes are 11 yrs old, Daikin brand. At first I thought just do pressure test to check for leaks and just replace the fancoil units. However, some friends are saying that the pipes are quite old and may leak in the near future, hence should change all new before shifting in.

Need some advice here on whether it's ok to keep the existing pipes or should just do overhaul.

Thanks in advance!
