To Mr Elf,

Price seems quite cheap considering free upgrade to 1/2 insulation.

Hello, my room hasn't been installed with an aircon before.

I intend to buy the aircon unit for my room as it is located next to a very hot carpark especially at night.

Any recommendation for aircon? I am a total newbie here.

Hi Terumo,

I will be hacking away my Bedroom 3 & install a MIT sys 4 for my new BTO.

I would like to know is MsyGE10VA *3 + MsyGE26VA + Mxy4A28 sufficient or do I need to get the Mxy4A38?

Alternative, I am looking at MIT Heavy as well.
SCM80 + SRK25 *3 + SRK60

TIA
Joel

To LIN_JOEL,

Do u think u will use the living room very often & on together with the bedroom?
If yes, then i suggest u get the 4a38 as it has a higher btu.

If u do not use it often with the other bedrooms, 4a28 will be enough for your usage.

Hi everyone, I am planning to get aircon for my parent's place which is a 30 year old 3A HDB. I have learnt quite a lot of about aircon in this thread, thanks to the gurus. Based on what I have gathered so far, I think the ME inverter system 2 (starmex?) is the best choice as I am looking for cost savings and ease of maintenance.

Regarding installation workmanship and who to buy from, I haven't seen much recommendations posted here, maybe it is not allowed. I saw that many here buy from GC but the reviews were mixed. So can anyone recommend which dealer should I buy from and can provide good installation?

Thanks.
care to share your quotation?
I'm also looking to install one unit but don't want to invest too much as I will getting my new flat late 2015 or 2016.

any expert to share thoughts?
mine is 3rm the old flat type.

Would like to check, is that correct that system 2 (each unit 9k btu) will consume more compare to system 1 (9k btu)? Assuming only 1 unit working on system 2.

Anyway is panasonic good brand in term of reliability?

Im looking for 12k btu and 9k btu any recommendation? either system 2 or 1?
budget below 3k
TIA

To lin_joel,
Electricity consumption is the same for 4a28 & 38 cos they r inverter if u on 1 unit.
Will consume electricity according to the number of units u on.
If u on all 4 units, then 38 will consume more.

To oprahsps,

For inverter, if u on 1 unit of 9k btu, for sys 1 or sys 2 or 3 or 4 compressor, they will consume ard the same amp.
As the compressor will adjust itself according to the number of units on & the btu of the unit.

Panasonic is a value for money brand. (IMO)

NEVER TRUST GAIN CITY

I have bought a set of Hitachi inverter system 3 air-con last year for S$3,300 on their salesman's recommendation.

Actually, I wanted to buy Panasonic but the salesman serving me keep on pushing Hitachi. So, I bought a system 3. But after the installation I found that the air-con is not cold and only blow air. I then complaint to them and they sent the Hitachi technician down. The technician came down and gave the excuse of I have the air-con installed at the corner and then left.

Now, I do not use the system. I bought this system on credit card of 24 instalment payment and I'm still paying the monthly instalment. When the 24 month instalment is up I will throw away the Hitachi air-con and get a new system of another brand. Of course for one hundred and one per cent I will not go to Gain City.

They are only selling and pushing the brand that they have bought in big bulk at cheaper cost.
