To Xiaoheng,

Usually fan mode to cool mode, need 1-3 mins for the compressor to kick in.
So if need to wait a while, its normal.
yea i understand... i notice the problem when its already pass 20+mins and still blowing warm air that's when i notice it cannot trigger the cold mode even thuo controller is at cold mode... and u need to on/off switch in between fan and cold mode many times then u might get it to trigger the cold mode... the Mit tech is coming down this tue see how it goes... will update here

Hi all,

Would like to get a System 2 aircon for my parent's studio apartment.

Basically, just the bedroom and the living room. Is it possible to install a more stronger aircon in the living room compared to the bedroom?

Any bros can recommend a good brand and nice contractor to install the aircon?

Thanks in advance.

What are the common brands recommended? Starmex? Toshiba? Looking at System 4 for 4 room new BTO. Normally what are the shops with more competitive pricing and what freebies, parts, installation cost, etc to look out for? (Copper tubing? Compressor?) Please advise and help!!! Thanks!

We should make a poll on what is the best aircon model noobs (like me) should get.
Maybe like top 3 or top 5 aircon model.

I heard Mitsubishi is the best bang for the buck out of these three: Daikin, Toshiba, Mitsubishi

But I want to know which model exactly?
I'm sure Mitsubishi air-con has many model, and they cannot all be the same.
Maybe on some model Mitsubishi win, but maybe on other model Toshiba wins.

So, this is a call to our resident air-con experts! Please list down your top 3 aircon models and your reasoning.

To ltrinityl,

Living room should be of a higher btu, 12k or 18k.
Bedroom usually 9k btu will be enough.

Share my used & experience

Mitsubishi electric Starmex really gave me really high rating.

So far my JB has been used over 4 years has not an issue even serving also by myself.. The air cooling still remain like when new bought, cold & quiet also easy to access blower that is the bonus for me.

So far I had bought a unit hdb resale flat in SG for my choice also back to Starmex inverter.

That is good brand for me and alway is high capacity to suit our need.

Photo taken for sg one, before install yet, due to weekend
