Why 10% old pipe cause the place inaccessible for replacement? mostly cause by the old pipe cause it can't handle R410 gas pressure. (2x the R22 gas pressure). The pipe crack hole become larger n larger so the gas leak will become faster overtime...
10% old pipe inaccessible as its covered-up, & I didn't want to open up 4yrs back when installing the new aircon. Thanks.

Will be relaying the piping, need some help with the recommended sizes

My setup:
StartMex Sys4 - MXY4A28VA, MSY-GE10VA x3, MSY-GE26VA x1

According to the manuals,
pipe diameter liquid/gas (thickness)
GE10VA, 9.52/6.35(0.8)
GE26VA , 15.88/9.52(1/0.8)

Am I correct to interpret as
GE10VA, drain pipe diameter 9.52, copper pipe diameter 6.35, both thickness 0.8.?

GE26VA, drain pipe diameter 15.88 thickness 1.0, copper pipe diameter 9.52, thickness 0.8?

Insulation thickness, as per terumo's post #6000, pg400.
For 9k/12k btu for Mitsubishi, the pipe size should be 1/4 & 3/8.
For 18k should be 1/4 & 1/2.
24k btu should be 3/8 & 5/8.

Advice appreciated, thanks.

Hi RedCon,

Please quote

HDB 4 room.
Mitsubishi Starmax, MXY3A28VA + MSYGE10VA x 3
Copper pipes, Grade 23 (0.61mm)
Do you use pipe benders for corners?
Class 0 insulation, 1/2"(12.7mm), Amarflex or Thermaflex
PVC piping 16mm
3C40 wire for outdoor
3C70 wire for indoor
Is there any length limit to the supplied material?
GST included, parts & labour too.
I would assume installation is by BCA certified personnel.

Thanks alot.

pipe size r right. copper ask to use 22swg thickness for R410 gas. insulation amaflex brand 1/2 inch thickness
Why 22SWG?
Mitsu manuals says 0.8mm thickness, shouldn't it be 21SWG according to SWG Wiki ?

Thickness not too important, but the insulation of rubber foam most important than used G23 copper pipe, if the PVC pipe didn't cover with rubber foam at all.

The water dripping would be an issue too.

I don't get what you mean by "PVC didn't cover with rubber foam at all". Are you saying PVC drain pipe should be insulated?

Yap, even PVC pipe should cover with insulated rubber foam.. To avoid water dripping after 3-6 mths usage time, cause has many similar case was the PVC drain outlet pipe didn't cover foam at all.

The bottom part of trucking can see a lot water yellow marks or some may water dripping down already.

To bananaboat,
$2.5k can get you a system 2 with installation and the necessary power supply.
Do not worry.

To streakin,

I suggest you look at Mitsubishi Electric, Toshiba & Daikin and steer away from the rest of the brands.
Living room will require 24k btu while the rest of the rooms 9k btu.
